No raises this decade

Pros

Great location, right above Penn Station. Retooling of all software so it has a more consistent look. The regular employees are mostly great, and try to satisfy the constantly shifting demands of management.

Cons

2-week development cycle leads to constant pressure. New exec with sign on his desk: "I'm not bossy, I'm the boss", doesn't inspire but instead rules with an iron first, shrinking deadlines, and constant criticism of new work. No pay raises this decade. Yearly layoffs. No 401k match. Continuing decrease in benefits and increased commuting costs from reduction in telecommuting leads to less and less take home pay every year. Major (10%) layoff a few months ago. Company took money from Goldman Sachs (probably so previous CEO/founder can retire), but will probably result in company being sold. No promotions for non-managers to show appreciation of talent. No room for growth. Only a privileged few have offices with windows, rest are stuck in 6x10 cubicles under florescent lights with no direct sunlight.

Worst company to work for

Pros

None that I can think of

Cons

This is the worst company to work for. They do not give salary raises to employees for several years in a row. They lay off lots of people every single year. During the last waive of layoffs they got rid of many talented and smart employees. No matter how hard you work and how well you do your job, you are never appreciated or rewarded here. Stay away from this company.
