Good business, great people, terrible management
Pros
1. Hot business. Autonomous driving is definitely the future 2. Great coworkers. Most people willing to help out and unblock you 3. Benefits are good. Free lunch and dinners before the pandemic. Good insurance. 4. Technically challenging but not impossible. It does feel rewarding when making progress. 5. CEO is really good at what he does. The team he brought on board is very good as well.
Cons
1. NO WLB. Overtime(evening and weekend), late-night meetings, always on call. 2. Management is mediocre at best, last year the executive team brought lots of bureaucracies but no technical and engineering guidance. CTO is really good at his domain but and put a lot of resources into it but neglects other teams. 3. CEO talks about a lot of cultures but it was all in his best interests. Everyone is pressured hard and with the "results-driven" and "exceeds limits" motto and no one dares to talk because the company is "utmost frankness" but the management team only cares about the deliverable but not you 4. Projects are usually staffed with ~ 1/5 to 1/10 of employee resources compared to other companies in the industry. Project deadlines are set with unrealistic expectations. Employees ended up working a lot of overtime(talking about even thanksgiving and Christmas) but in the end, you got a "Meet expectation" rating. 5. Politics and people who are talkative rated higher or equal to the people who are productive
