Corruption, nepotism, racism, bigotry, mobbing, and 100% toxic.
The best are being mobbed out and people quit on a regular basis. Only the ones who are cooperating with this toxicity are being rewarded.
Instead of promoting their loyal hard working employees, they hire external candidates who usually quit after a few months. Or ‘give’ the position to unqualified family members or friends.
Speaking of friends: though internships were unpaid, when it comes to people of interest this rule seems to be flexible. These privileged “children of” interns also get paid unlike other interns.
Conflict of interest, Corrupt and collusive practice: the daughter of the main service provider works there. That puts her fathers company in a position to have access to information about influence and bidding, not to mention the confidentiality problem, among other corruption cases.
There is a constant atmosphere of fear and passive aggressiveness in the office. Many previous (and current) employees needed long medical treatment after working there. You also cannot talk to the unqualified HR team, who keep no confidentiality and immediately report in the form of gossip to the related people. As a result- employers sit frustrated, frightened and sobbing behind their desks.
Cultish secretive vibe, peculiar relationships between some female seniors and staff, people getting fired while on Sick Leave, endless racist comments (also towards the beneficiaries), foreign employees who are on the verge of deportation because HR fails to provide them with the necessary papers on time and the list goes on and on…
It is as if they are all busy with gossiping and making each others lives miserable . If you are there to actually work, learn and suggest new ideas to facilitate processes, you will soon be targeted as the next victim (and boy these women love new and fresh targets). So if you have 1 ounce of intelligence, you probably wont get far.
Signora Chief of Mission is well aware of the situation (!) however "chooses" (as she puts it) to support this hostile, and sick environment.
This organisation/ mission is just too bad to be true in every possible way. If you are truly passionate about a career in the humanitarian field- DO –NOT- APPLY!!!! It will literally ruin your faith in humanity.
