We apologize that your working experience with IOM Germany has been so unpleasant for you.
It is important for us to emphasize that we, at IOM Germany, work hard in creating a working environment where employees feel safe, supported and valued for their skills and competencies.
It is also of utmost importance to us that employees can voice their discomfort or any possible mistreatment from colleagues or supervisors at a place which feels trustworthy. To ensure this, we have put several structures and contact points in place, be it the Respectful Workplace Focal Point, the Ombudsperson or our HR team which are available for all staff. Please be assured that we handle all criticism which we receive through those points with absolute anonymity and diligence. The Senior Management listens to it carefully, as we cannot grow or improve as an organization without doing so.
Moreover, sharing in rumors or even contributing to a negative environment goes completely against everything IOM Germany stands for. We actively work towards a positive and respectful workplace having already offered staff trainings such as “Stress Management”, “How to say No” or “LGTBQI Awareness”, to just name a few. These trainings aim at sensitizing all staff on how to establish an inclusive, respectful and appreciative working environment where employees can thrive. Moreover, as an International Organization, we do work with beneficiaries from all over the world and are in contact with international colleagues daily. Consecutively, there is zero tolerance for racism at IOM and should we be informed about it, we take immediate action.
To conclude, we need to reject the allegations of corruption and nepotism. We follow rigorously IOM’s ethical guidelines and Code of Conduct and are thankful for every staff member who joins us and seeks to support IOM Germany on this journey.
