Pros

You can learn a lot here as a first job.

Cons

I left this company a while ago. I'm not sure why, but for some reason, people in high levels of management at this company are still besmirching me. I recently had a friend tell an executive he knew someone who used to work at IMI, and this executive proceeded to tell my friend that I was incompetent. Why? I have no idea. But honestly, this isn't surprising behavior. Management at IMI is childish, vindictive and petty. And at least while I was there, they wouldn't promote from within. In order to get promoted, people would leave the company and then get hired back at a higher position.

Pros

Competitive pay, that's it. Nothing else

Cons

There was zero leadership or management at this place. It was the worst job I have ever had in my life. Work life balance is as bad as it gets. The managers that were there have no clue how to manage or treat people. The culture was one of "fear for your job". It was just a depressing place to work. During my time there I witnessed this place go through three different presidents, numerous accountants/financial personnel, office personnel, and shop personnel. That in itself should tell you how terrible this company is. The president that was there when I left was by far the worst. He drove the "fear for your job" culture. This guy was always threatening to fire people and he did. He fired a lot of good people. Worst leadership I have ever experienced in my life. There were people there that really tried to hold it together but it was just a losing battle. This place was severely understaffed and the people were so overworked. You didn't have this job because you enjoyed it, you had this job because you didn't have another job. People were constantly looking for an out and trying to leave this place. Everyone there was just miserable. It was one of those places you dreaded going to each day. It was actually depressing to get up and go to work every morning.

Pros

Some of the industry's best are still left. Name recognition and customer loyalty keeps the orders coming.

Cons

IMI/CCI have recently hired many ex-GE executives who do not know the industry, but think they have the right medicine for CCI. Overblown egos and short-term thinking prevent them from questioning themselves or asking others who know the business for input before they make decisions that significantly impact the company, employees and customers. The result is increased bureaucracy, no daily management support, poor treatment of employees, ongoing degradation of employee benefits, loss of teamwork and family culture, layoffs to offset the increased spending on executive salaries and fringes and slowing of business due to lack of focus on the right opportunities. Nearly all employees in the business fear losing their jobs to offshoring as CCI continues to make large investments in personnel and infrastructure in Bangalore and implement poorly thought-out closures of US offices.
