Pros

Week off between Christmas and New Years in addition to measly 2 weeks earned. 9 -5, not too much overtime. That's all that can be said. Sales are rewarded $$$ I understand but the experience is so miserable, they have to completely shut down emotionally and professionally to perform.

Cons

My understanding is that IIR was the conference industry leader. That is history. The company, as it exists today is an unhappy, uninspired division of an information services behemoth, the conference division led by a crazy, disrepectful CEO. There is virtually no support from management - half of who left or were let go in the past year. Corporate must come down heavy on crazy CEO to continually create new events with no history so they can rake $$$ to keep the ship afloat. The drab office and technology are firmly stuck in the 1990's, the carpets are ripped - it looks like a de-glorified call center -because that's essentially what it is. Dial for dollars. The truly smart employees left and started a competitive company which has developed quite a name for itself in the past few years.

Pros

Summer fridays, good people to work with that bond over the disaster of a situation they are all in. Decent starting job to gain experience.

Cons

Is there a maximum number of words? Unrealistic expectations. Unrealistic goals. Failing events. Depressing work environment. 1/3 of the staff is allowed to work from home multiple times a week, but if you were not grandfathered in to that schedule it is an unthinkable request. Management that does not support their staff. Management that has no clue what they are doing, but even worse they don't know that they have no clue - truly sad. Some crazy and insane coworkers that make life awful 5 days a week. No room for growth. None.

Pros

End of year holiday vacation Lots of team work - if you like that Depending on role, there is travel to interesting places When you do travel, you stay at nice hotels

Cons

There is no money to be made here. Extremely cheap company. Lots of my coworkers hold down another job to make ends meet. If they try selling you on a lower base with promises of profit share, don't buy it. You receive the profit share months out, after the company recoups its own expenses money. And it's usually such a small sum, in the years I have been with the company, I have yet to see the amount promised at sign on. Proseses are so confusing that no one knows what to do. Multi tasking, here you will be a chicken without a head. Everyone's to do lists are extremely long because we are so understaffed. So there is a lot that falls through the cracks. The culture encourages blaming others. It's a negative vibe here
