Awful place to work. Period.

Pros

Ample parking in the back lot.

Cons

A true succubus for potential talent, where the monotony and futility of your day to day activities can break even the most driven employees. Workers at ICONICS become zombies, at peace with mediocrity within months of working there. I've never been exposed to such nonchalance in the face of a pressing release, followed by extremely high moments of stress, coupled with lack of communication with customers and about as much enthusiasm as a cadaver for their faulty software. Lackadaisical, uncommunicative upper management acts as a catalyst for a psychotic and selfish CEO, who allows HR to take advantage of under-qualified employees by forcing them to learn programs not featured on their resumes. Fraudulent interview process where the interviewers leave out potentially deterring information about the available positions. Completely futile human resources department that wouldn't help their own grandmother cross the street. One of the worst training programs imaginable. A hostile boys club through and through, led by a human resources nightmare who at any other company would be disciplined. Hopeless documentation files, held together with metaphorical duct tape, that would only cost the company 120 dollars a month to upgrade. Truly, an awful experience.

Pros

most ICs and middle management and below are nice, competent people

Cons

Horrible, abusive workplace. Upper management and above are disasters and walking HR violations. I regularly observed CEO and CFO screaming at employees --to the point of making employees cry -- for absolutely stupid reasons, like say for example a graphic designer not making an exclamation point big enough. In one meeting, the CEO joked about putting several young female employees in a harem for one of the sales guys. All your good ideas will get shot down and you'll be forced to execute horrible ideas from the idiots in upper management and above. Most people I knew there quit within 1-3 years and those who didn't were constantly looking for other jobs. I was there for a year and I don't even list this horrible company on my resume.

A revolving door for young technical talent

Pros

The small nature of the company means there are not a lot of strict processes to follow. In theory this would mean you could really guide your work in a manner involving high responsibility. This is not the case.

Cons

Many young engineers start at the company to quickly realize they have joined a circus. Positive suggestions and functionality are quickly dismissed by out of touch management. This extends outside of the technical realm as well. Most folks realize that the situation cannot be remedied as a true solution would involve a clean sweep of management which will never occur. This leaves most to the resort to the only logical reality available. Young talent jumps from the perpetually sinking ship which somehow never ceases to stop scraping rock bottom.
