DO NOT WORK HERE

Pros

Outside of the CEO, almost everyone who works here is thoughtful, compassionate, and talented---truly some of the best co-workers you could find.

Cons

The CEO runs the company like a dictatorship. He has the final say on everything. He does not understand or care to understand how the company works. If someone disagrees with him, they are fired. There is insane turnover. The average tenure for someone who has to interact with Ravi is around 5 months before they either fire or quit. AVOID THIS COMPANY You log in every day to find out which high-performing employee that you respected and admired was unceremoniously and unilaterally fired. There is zero opportunity for advancement. There is an intense company culture of fear and suspicion. Despite being a "non-profit" the only concern is the bottom line. There is never a discussion of helping tenants, saving the environment, improving internal DEI, or anything of the sort. Everything comes down to making money.

Pros

- ICAST has done a good job building brand awareness, unfortunately ICAST has a reputation within it’s industry that the president is extremely difficult to work with which has been costly, especially in growing their business. - Some low income tenants living in poor environments receive significant improvements specifically around their HVAC and many times the property owner receives hundreds of thousands of dollars in free money to increase their property value from the renovations.

Cons

- Horrible fear throughout the organization regarding the president. - Terrible execution in every aspect of the company. - The president is all over the place. Every month, if not week, he wants to go in a different direction. Wouldn’t be a problem if these directions ended up with positive results, but in over a year only saw failures and decisions to walk away which ends up being a distraction to the organization. Plus, there's always a price for someone to pay for his errors. - Lack of trust in what the president says. He goes back on his word with employees, customer and partners if there’s ever a chance to better his position or make a few extra bucks. - No checks and balances, truly one person that makes every decision without wanting any input for their management team. - Read the reviews, there’s truth in every negative comment posted about ICAST, even ones from 4 years before I started. Watch out!

Pros

You don’t have to sit in an office next to Napoleon. That’s really the only pro.

Cons

The Executive Team of this “Non-Profit”. That is the biggest con. I mean just read any one of these reviews and you can see how horrible of a person they are. I mean when the “leader” or I mean Dictator of this organization gets their you know what’s in a bunch, they’ll call the first person in front of them every derogatory name under the sun. Unfortunately being the sector ICAST is in it attracts a certain type of person as an employee. This type of person is usually non combative and is pushed of and talked to quite easily by someone with a narcissistic personality. Perfect environment for the Executive. Once in a while a Combative person, or someone willing to stand up for themself will get hired and the president will do everything in the world to get rid of them. In the two years I worked there I’ve seen a lot of great talent in all departments figuratively walk out the door just because he couldn’t walk all over them and belittle them. Oh and my god don’t have an opinion that differs from his or he’ll fire you for that as well. I mean if you need some short term experience in the energy sector than keep your head down and develop some thick skin. If not, look elsewhere.
