      Great place for technologists; terrible place to be in management.

      Pros

      As a technologist, you are given a lot of freedom to develop solutions with a fair amount of autonomy granted. Furthmore, the time off policy is quite liberal, and the company provides 50% matching of 401K contributions.

      Cons

      Hypermedia Systems is wholly-owned by another (Japanese-owned) company, and the company executives have little say in strategic decisions for the company. As a result, there are many organizational and cultural conflicts within scope of the larger organization. Hypermedia is forced by its parent company to follow the old Japanese hierarchal way of management which hinders its true capabilties.

      Pros

      - Place to make new friends. - Full medical premium coverage for free. - Best 401K match.

      Cons

      - Some managers get away with abusive actions that are at lawsuit level. - Upper management does not solve the problem but sweep it under the rug. - No room to grow, your salary is set for life. - Base salary is not fairly distributed. - Miss-evaluate employee skill sets. - Working on dated technology stack. Not much you can pickup for your future. - Bad people get credit while good skilled people work hard. Quality people ended up leaving of planning to leave the company. - Not flexible with hours. - No value placement on projects.
