Pros
I spent over 7yrs in the business and wouldnt change my time there at all. Starting as a graduate from University with no recruitment experience, the businesses helped train and develop me to become a fantastic recruiter. There were great career development opportunities and I have the chance to set up a new area of the business only 2yrs into my role, all the while being supported while also given the freedom and space to do this on my own. I also had the opportunity for upwards career development and progressed into a leadership role. I was offered extensive internal and external management training all paid for by the business. There were numerous opportunities to offer my feedback to the company throughout my time where my opinions were listened to, valued and visible changes were made as a result. Its a friendly and social working environment but also one that is hardworking a driven where the values are of the company are held by all, including senior management. Finally, the compensation, bonuses and additional perks (nights out, prizes and gifts) were fantastic and I will always be the envy of my friends from the amount I was given by HRS!
Cons
Like with any business, there were times where there was bad management and wrong hires made that effected the culture of the business but unlike most businesses (especially sales businesses) these were effectively dealt with to ensure the positive culture was maintained. Also like any sales business, there are targets and KPIs and if you are not a driven individual with the self-motivation to be successful you will struggle. There is a strong team focus with everyone pulling together so if you like to work at home on your own, again it might be an environment where you would struggle.
