Pros

You'll meet some nice people, but who knows how long they'll last.

Cons

-Very poor management structure -Don't expect to be treated with respect! Basically, you're just a gopher catering to upper management's whims -All emails are monitored and re-written (poorly at that) -Upper management seems to condone stretching the truth to clients, versus managing expectations, to foster strong relationships -Frequent mistakes in event planning, new business decks, press materials, etc. due to lack of time and attention to detail -Very poor treatment of employees, with not much room or potential for true growth -No work/life balance

Pros

There are a lot of glamourous perks of working at Hunter PR. Free food/booze/beauty products being one, cupcakes on Wednesdays and birthday celebrations once a month, I thought I was in heaven.

Cons

I soon found out I was not though. I did not get nearly enough PR experience during my time at Hunter. When it was time to move on, I had no portfolio to show from my X number of months I was working there. I often worked from 6am-11pm (or later) M-F. I understand that PR is not a 9-5 job, but I honestly had no life outside work. When I wasn't working I was stressing over the emails I might get from my bosses about work. I was once yelled at for not responding to an email while I was very sick. On many occasions I asked to work late nights and holidays. I was humiliated and I was referred to, on multiple occasions, as "weak" and was told I "would never make it in PR." After working unhappily for months, I tried to go to higher management and was told the same thing, but was never offered with advice on how to improve. Another aspect of Hunter PR was that there were a lot of caddy clicks. Unfortunately, I was always working, so I never had time to form real relationships with my coworkers anyway but, had I wanted to, it would have been difficult to do so. I have never worked so hard in my life and benefited so very little. I was never treated with respect. I was never given the opportunity to voice my opinions without getting a snarky or sarcastic feedback.
