Clinical risk from unsafe supervision

Pros

I had the best manager but eventually had to moved on just like the other mangers before her.

Cons

High staff turnover is the most pressing challenges with HHG. A large part of the clinical team is either new to the role or composed of students and provisional staff who are often expected to manage demanding psychology and behavioral support workloads. There's a lack of experienced people around, that puts extra pressure on everyone and doesn't always provide the level of support you'd expect. Driven by persistent turnover, supervisory consistency is lacking. This constant disruption makes it impossible to get stable and compliant clinical signoffs. Mostly the problem here, the internal priority is heavily centered on billing targets, NDIS funding logs, and revenue generation.

Pros

As a community based clinician, you are given a high level of trust and flexibility to manage your own daily schedule, travel routes, and work life balance. The team of occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and speech pathologists are highly collaborative and always willing to share resources or clinical advice. You can also get to see the direct results of your therapeutic interventions in real world settings, which makes the work fulfilling.

Cons

Navigating complex NDIS billing metrics, funding trackers, and compliance forms can create an administrative burden. It requires strong time management skills to balance direct client contact with the expected daily documentation requirements.

Pros

If you enjoy working independently outside of a traditional office environment, the field based nature of the role allows you to manage your own vehicle space.

Cons

It is very challenging to being held to demanding billable hour targets without being given enough clients to meet them. Instead of focusing on the job you were hired to do, you're expected to spend a significant amount of time finding your own referrals just to keep your numbers up. Scheduling is another major challenge. Despite promises of working within a local area, appointments are often spread so far apart that you can spend several hours driving for a single client visit. While the company has made efforts to refresh its public image through rebranding, many of the operational issues and management practices remain unchanged, leaving employees with the same challenges despite the new look.
