Pros

Fast, responsive, reliable, personable, friendly, and truly care that you have a great experience while also taking into account what’s important to you! Kat is the best recruiter I’ve ever talked to and is why I choose to stay with Host for multiple assignments!

Cons

Not the most options for assignments as some companies.

Pros

Fully remote Work from home, amazing co-workers

Cons

Anyone who is wanting to work here internally, just be aware that most of the reviews here are from nurses and travelers on assignment with host, (they also receive incentives to leave reviews) & it’s not from the actual people who work at the company like recruiters, account coordinators, payroll etc. I was super stoked when I started working at host because I felt like it was a super supportive/inclusive environment, but a few years later I would realize I was disposable during mass lay-offs. Every week at all hands or Q&A meetings, we were told and reassured things were picking up & host was doing great - so much to our surprise we were laid off without any idea that was even fathomable. The truth is travel nursing is dying down and the the market is oversaturated, and aya will probably hold a monopoly over it in the near future.

Thank you for your feedback and your commitment to Host Healthcare over the past 3+ years. I'm sorry to hear that your experience during that time was anything less than ideal. As you know, Host Healthcare is a healthcare staffing company, and our Glassdoor reviews include all Host Healthcare employees (internal employees and travel healthcare professionals). At Host Healthcare, we take great pride in our mission-driven culture, which includes putting the needs of each of our corporate employees and travel professionals first. We aim to create an environment where all employees feel valued and have a sense of fulfillment knowing they are empowering healthcare professionals to achieve the life and career they deserve. It's important to note that we also provided all employees with opportunities to provide constructive feedback for our leadership team and training teams, which is facilitated through quarterly anonymous surveys. Although your comments do not align with the feedback we receive from those surveys, which over multiple years have reflected a high Employee Net Promoter Score (eNPS), please know that we take it to heart, and we are sorry that your experience with us was anything less than ideal. This type of situation is very unusual at Host, and we would appreciate the opportunity to learn more about your experience over the past four years and address how your situation differs. Feel free to give us a call at (800) 585-1299 or email us at ComfortConcierge@hosthealthcare.com.

Pros

Host Healthcare employees have the opportunity to make 6 figures. It provides snacks, and periodic meals to its employees, as well as company events and happy hours. There is always alcohol in office, and a full stocked break room. It has everything a prospective employee would want to see at surface level. Unfortunately, it has so many more cons under the surface. Note, you will likely do well here and receive great support as an employee if you are white.

Cons

Working at Host is definitely not for everyone. While Host's CEO Adam likes to remind every negative comment with the various awards it has won as best places to work, you should know that every employee is hounded by email and badgered into giving a glowing recommendation to get those awards. So this is just factually not valid as only happy employees write these reviews. This is because unhappy employees or employees who bring forward concerns are no longer Host employees pretty quickly. You should know that as a Host Employee, you have to break records, book travelers immediately, or you will lose your job. Host has no HR department. Adam has stated multiple times that he does not like the term HR. HR is an essential part of any growing company. Perhaps the lack of Human Resources can give some insight into why Host Healthcare has an atrocious turnover rate. Host Healthcare lacks diversity on a deep level. This is a white company, and if you are not considered to be aligned with the Host Brand, you are treated as second class. Recruitment is often rewarded, and built up to be legends in the office. Management has found a particular way of manipulating new employees into baring their souls and getting your deepest goals and insecurities out on the table in order to be used against you if you do not perform well at any point in time. This can be spun into a form of motivation at any time. But Host management is in deep over their heads with their workload. Host Healthcare will forgive anything if you are performing well as a top recruiter. They have forgiven toxic employees who have been accused of harassment, discrimination, and even threatened physical harm. Meanwhile, if employees had a hard time performing due to whatever the case may be, you are fired. No other alternatives are given. There is no off time as an employee of host. You are expected to answer every text, call or email, no matter when you receive it. Although this may be disputed by Adam who is sure to comment on this, you are actively discouraged from taking time off as it can hurt your performance. And again if you are not a top performer, you are put on a strict plan to book travelers or you will be fired. The truth is, until Host can hire some truly diverse employees, set up an HR department that can be trusted, or do the hard work to fix its culture, it will remain as a company who truly does not treat its employees correctly. It will continue to promote Adam Francis' family to senior levels (including his wife, sister in law, and others close to the Francis company). It will continue to reserve the largest office in its space for Adam's father Steve Francis who I don't think even has a title. And regardless of the manipulated awards it has won, remain a company that will not be taken seriously and it will continue to be looked at as a small company. No matter how many CEO groups Adam Francis is a part of.
