Pros

Lots of autonomy Wealth of experienced staff and digital operators Good range of new print technology Size of business and historical clients Market experience and standing

Cons

Poor training functions No CRM system for sales, despite over 20 locations Autocratic leadership on key decisions from Chairman Business Strategy is based upon a spread betting style. Akin to going to the roulette table, spreading chips across the table and hoping something lands. New strategy every month; often contradicting previous months. AEC is dead, financial sector is key, We need to focus heavily on AEC now, wait, Project management tools are the future, no, Indigo is the way forward, We need to focus on small format colour, Scrap that, 3d printing is the way forward. That's the picture over a 4 month period. Dubious characters in management. Shady and some just unpleasant. Not great respect for long term employees, despite claiming to be a 'people company'. Make no bones about it, Hobs are a investor in technology; they don't really care too much about the personnel. Culture, whilst good because of some great employees is often reduced to gallows humor. People do inherently moan, but there is no smoke without fire.

Thank you for your review, we have not long claimed our Company page so apologies for the delay in responding. As we now have a new CEO, he has implemented a clear strategy and a 2020 vision for our Company. To support the strategy we have and will continue to invest in new technology.

Pros

Staff are knowledgable and friendly- make the company. You learn very quickly with on the job training.

Cons

Senior management more interested in appeasing shareholders. Staff worked into the ground. Made to feel like overtime is mandatory. It’s your fault unreasonable deadlines are accepted. Zero career development unless you like doing sales. Strategy? What strategy!? Willing to lose knowledge left, right and centre rather than pay a reasonable salary.

Thank you for your review. Unfortunately the pandemic and pre pandemic economic climate had a negative impact on our business and we had no option but to seek to reduce costs which unfortunately, like most other companies, included some redundancies. With regards to culture, we always seek to improve so please feel free to drop us a note with some detailed feedback that we can take on board.
