Fake reviews from a sinking ship

Pros

It's a sad state of affairs when your executive team resorts to putting out fake endorsements. You can safely disregard all of the Oct 27th reviews which are a pathetic PR stunt. Given the current state of culture it's safe to say all positive reviews are fake.

Cons

Paranoia. Dishonesty. Greed. Panic. Meltdown.

Pros

Flexible work schedule, young environment, ability to work remote. The job teaches you time management and organizational skills, as well as gives you the opportunity to work with lots of different types of people on the candidate and client side. Good company to work for as a contractor.

Cons

If you're an internal employee, watch out. they do not value their employees if you're not making the company money, and there is no initiative from management to want to help change that. C-level executives do not care about the concerns employees have. It's great if you're hitting your activity metrics, but if you haven't placed anyone in a job, chances are your job won't last. I've seen them get rid of some EXCELLENT recruiters all because of things the recruiters had no control over, but the executives could have changed. And if they don't want you working there, you can count on getting terminated for reasons not explained to you or laid off with a severance. C-level executives will get rid of an employee before taking the time to understand employee concerns or issues. Every new employee has the same problems with making placements. The environment is extremely cut throat, and you can count on your candidates never getting submitted if you aren't best friends with the Business Development managers. Ranked a "Best Place to Work" in the Washington News Journal, but that is just another lie they like to tell people to make you want to work with them. It's unfortunate because I am still an employee here, and I hate it.

Ruined By Acquisition

Pros

Good name recognition in the area. Opportunities to move within the company if you're not performing. Some teams are still really well-managed and put together (ie F&A Perm in Reston, Tech Contract in DC)

Cons

This used to be THE best place to work. The culture in the DC and even Reston offices had a bit of a startup feel with how well everyone got along and hung out after work. Once acquired by the Addison Group it all went downhill. Upper Management that was not on-board with the acquisition ran for the hills thus leaving their employees leaderless. Some mornings you can hear a pin drop during the call "blitzes" when everyone is supposed to be on the phone. It is extremely metrics driven now; at one time you were allowed to think creatively and attract talent in other ways than calling people. This is just your typical staffing company now-- sad.
