Pros

The training was decent, location is great lots of places to eat.

Cons

Oh boy where to begin. They claim to be “faith based” yet their actual practice seems to be far from that. If you need some flexibility this job isn’t for you. People go in to real estate for the flexibility and the draw of being your own boss. This is not the case here you’re an “employee” as far as you’re scheduled time and efforts and your entire life must be aligned with what they want, except the pay is still commission apart from training! Ha! If you question their policies or disagree with being treated poorly, they claim you’re just “not inline with our values.” While in training I was berated for feeling confident using the scripts they gave me and they said “You need to have it memorized, we don’t pay you to read scripts!” Well that’s how you memorize it..... by using it! Also they call you a “clock watcher” if you leave at the time they tell you you’re allowed to leave.... even if you got there on time which is 7:30am. God forbid you actually leave on time. Yikes. Also, they make you do these ridiculous phone calls in the morning BEFORE you’re scheduled to come in to talk about your numbers from the day before. The call is at 7am. The calm is mandatory. So forget about that morning coffee or that cry in the parking lot or giving your kids one last hug. Then they make you spew some BS about your goals for the day. Then you have to do it all again in a morning meeting. It’s very bizarre and cult-like. 0/10 would not recommend.

Thank you so much for your feedback on your experience with High Performance Real Estate. Pretty much all of this post is true (except the faith based part which I will comment on below). Unfortunately (or fortunately) we are in an industry that has a super low barrier to entry where most agents sell 6-8 homes per year on average (it's a scary fact!). The National Association of Realtor (N.A.R.) statistic states that 80% of Realtors who receive their license do not make it in this industry within 24 months. The main reason for their low production are all of the reasons posted in the review given. That is ... no training, no structure, no accountability, no ongoing skills work, flexible hours and no clear goals (daily or otherwise). The reason we exist is to serve our clients at the highest level on their largest asset and serve our team members and community through our non-profit. And to be clear, there is definitely no desperation to hire here at HPREA. That's not to say that it isn't really hard to find good people. In fact, we go through over 100 applications to select 1-2 agents that would be a great fit for our team. We have definitely hired team members in the past that did not prove to fit our Core Values and we strive to learn from those experiences. As far as the comment about our claim to be a "faith based" business, that is exactly how we run this team. We are called to work hard and to use our God given talents to serve others. We are also called to help our fellow brother or sister when they need it ... and sometimes that comes through accountability and even discipline. We also have a lot of fun and are grateful to get to do this work with our teammates. All that being said, we are still looking for talented team members! If you are reading this and you want to be part of a "high performance" real estate team and you refuse to accept the status quo in our industry, we would love to talk to you ... please visit HighPerformanceRealEstateCareers.com for more info.

Pros

Learned some phone skills and scripts.

Cons

Worst job I have ever had. A bunch of con artists that should loose their license. They encourage you to harass people and call the do not call list. They put out fake job descriptions to lure people in and guarantee a salary of $60,000 that you will not make. In fact you will be lucky to make $20,000. Every single person hired must spend at least the first 60 day on the phone with no bonuses meaning for the first 2 months you make $2,000 before tax. Then after 60 days guess what.... you get to stay on the phone and make more calls with a bonus of $100 if you make a appointment that ends up signing with the group. Oh and by the way it is MANDATORY that you work 7-5:30 each day and you are not allowed to sit down until 11:00 each day. So if you have health issues or may get pregnant stay away. In the short 6 months I saw 6 people quit and I have heard more have left since. Save yourself sometime and dont even bother applying here.

Dear Former Employee, we are truly sorry you feel this way. Had you stayed the 12 months and met the requirements that were clearly outlined for you, then you would have made $60k+. Unfortunately, you didn't meet those minimum requirements and that is why you didn't hit your goal of $60k. Obviously you are a disgruntled previous employee that emotionally made false claims against a company that did everything in our power to give you the tools and resources to succeed. It's unfortunate you did not take advantage of those resources and we wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors.

Pros

Learned great phone skills, scripts, and follow up

Cons

Not at all what I applied for. After passing the 60 day training period with flying colors I realized nothing was changing. I was still stuck in the ISA role with no promise of ever moving to the role I actually applied for. After earning the commissions I realized there was absolutely no way I was going to make anywhere near $60k as promised. Agents do not care about the clients. And Thomas Elrod is not a nice man. Please stay away from this company. I can't wait to see the snarky response I get to this post. Should tell you the type of people they are.

We are so sorry to hear that your experience working here was not what you had in mind. We have taken numerous steps to ensure that all new agents that join our team have clearer expectations of what they are being hired for. Real Estate can be a tricky business and can take time when you are first starting out. Numerous agents have received the 60k as promised goal, and had you stayed with HPREA for at least a year from graduating our training program, your financial goals would have been hit. We wish you the best of luck in your new career!
