Pros

Pharma is a great place to get experience. If you work hard for a year here you can gain a lot of knowledge, then leave to further your career

Cons

Layoffs, brutal managers, NO RAISES Expect to start low and stay low - If you get an offer be smart and negotiate. There are people who have worked at this company for 4 years and are still making very low salary - The best way to make more money is to move around.

Pros

Iniital assessment was that the team was pretty cohesive, collaborative and supportive of one another. Almost as soon as I started, I had a family emergency that required serious attention and they were completely understanding and flexible. So much so that I WANTED to work from the ICU and put out great solutions. Team of intelligent people, with definite plans to go somewhere.

Cons

CEO, Matt Reichert, is an ideas person which is great. He can see possibilities and has a good team to put together the logistics of carrying out those ideas. However, because he is too often tainted by relationships with certain members of the team, his judgement can become cloudy. Additionally, he has an idea one day and then two days later he has a different idea so there's this constant changing direction that hapens. There have been at least 3 reorganizations since January 2012, the first of which was to address the exponential growth they were experiencing. However, since the first reorganization, the team has become fractured. The sales team is not held accountable for their lack of production OR their extravagant spending. And, the politics below Matt are unbelieveable. They've entered new markets and launch new products without doing the proper research, threw a sales person at it and expected it to be a ridiculous success. It doesn't work that way most of the time. There is a lot of in-fighting between the executive team members and Sales Executives have been given far too much latitude on too many levels. They got rid of a lot of employees in January to pay down their debt. They've got their debt down and now laid off more people. I don't think they are getting the kind of offers they were hoping for in terms of selling the company and are now trying to make up the difference that sales isn't bringing in by whittling down the size of the team.

Pros

Not Much at all worth mentoning.

Cons

Upper Management is the absolute worst I have ever seen. HMS is not a healthy working environment with how managers operate. This company will never appreciate their employees nor will they ever have it even remotely together. No structure whatsoever. Upper management has no consistency on how employees or managers are reprimanded or counseled. They have entirely too much freedom on how the departments are managed. Many employees are set up to fail, discriminated against, and a high degree of unprofessional-ism. As far as a business aspect, they are very tactful and aggressive. This company is in DESPERATE need of an active HR department to stop the unappropriated and unprofessional-ism. So, If you want job security and still have your hair for a while I suggest running as far as you can away from this place. All employees are to HMS is a number, when your number is up its time to go.
