Pros

Great place to learn basic machining skills on some fairly new equipment. Wide range of equipment to learn on. Good benefits with a fair bit of paid time off.

Cons

Lower end of the pay scale for machine work and paid time off doesn't come close to making it even. Management is EXTREMELY poor. Two months ago the only knowledgeable supervisor and a couple of the best machinists were laid off (fired). The official reason was due to business conditions but the real reason is because they were competent and posed a threat to the in-group currently dominating the shop floor. This in-group lacks any sort of professionalism or integrity and have nobody to answer to but themselves and a naive executive from Austria so there's no end in sight. If you're part of that group or barely adequate at your job then you're golden. The market for natural gas is terrible and the company has no plans to diversify. Their only plans are to install automatic machinery to replace the people on the shop floor. And they plan on doing this after having let go of just about everyone that's capable of getting things set up correctly.

Pros

Pay was ok. Free parking spot. Free coffee. Elevator in the building. They gave me a mobile phone and a laptop for work.

Cons

Horrible managers, the best example how NOT to lead! People were thankful when the managers didn't storm into the office and yelled at them. Really really bad politics going on. They are treating their employees in the most horrific way - no wonder many emoyees see a shrink. Very high fluctuations in some departments like Accounting, HR, Controlling or Treasury. Some were fast enough to get out before burn-out or mental breakdown. The leadership programs HR installed are nice but in no ways changes the horrible culture of the old boys club at the top or in the middle management. No women in other functions than assistants, HR or accounting clerks. Be carefull if you are a woman and get pregnant with a second child, they might just "kindly" letting you leave the company. Absolutely inacceptable things happening in this company. Don't get blinded by the ok pay or the "interesting" challenges they try to sell to you. So many bad surprises for new employees... It was psychoterror working there. So many people left and the old boys club on the top only care about themselves - maintaining their power and money.

Pros

Paid sick time, vacation time, good benefit options and 401k employer match

Cons

Senior management is all "glass half empty" type people. Good, professional people in operations and sales are deflated by negativity and foolish profit demands with no investment in growth. Too much turnover of people.
