Pros

It's very hard to get fired from this job. Lots of flexibility in terms of scheduling, time off. Opportunities to learn new skills, promotions available for those who work (very) hard.

Cons

People do not tend to stay for longer than a year. As a more senior tech, it can be difficult trying to keep the ship running while constantly trying to train new hires and cover for their mistakes. The low rate of pay, strange hours, and highly repetitive work tend to drive people out. Which creates a self-reinforcing cycle of junior people taking on extra work to cover for the departure of senior employees, not being recognized or compensated for that additional responsibility, then deciding to leave themselves.

HR is a Nightmare

Pros

Flexible schedule, fun staff, Bio department has developed a lot in the last year to create a professional and strong work environment.

Cons

High turnover rate. The woman in charge of HR is the most toxic member of the entire company, she’s incredibly racist, homophobic and all around rude, weirdly enough the CEO, CFO, and lab director seem to fear her? Not sure how she hasn’t been fired seeing as how she’s really bad at her job as well? Once an employee submitted a sexual harassment claim against another employee and HR responded “that’s not my job”. She also once deadnamed a fellow employee on a live monthly meeting for the entire company to hear, and rather than apologizing she made the shift leads throw the rest of the staff a pride party. Funny enough I left on good terms with her but beware all that apply.

Pros

Some of the people are great to work with.

Cons

Some people are very entitled and don't think they can be wrong. HR is not helpful and will do anything to not answer your questions. They under pay and do not pay fairly based on actual tasks. Management is very unorganized. They will pick who to promote based on favorites. Do not stay here longer than a year, they will take advantage of you.
