Pros

A good place for those who do not want people to talk to them.

Cons

The worst company I ever joined in the finance sector. People and bosses are totally unfriendly and show no interest in talking to newcomers. They have a culture of making everyone fear their bosses. Turnover rate is extremely high in the team I was in. Most would leave within a few months. I felt the job was manageable, but it was the people that made me left the company. I was a cooperative employee who turns up on time, never goes out of office other than during lunch break and I do not smoke. Despite all that, I was always being criticized for everything I did. People in the company are only good at criticizing but not encouraging. In the first month, I was already told I was having a bad performance. In my first week, I was told not to approach my manager due to her busy schedule. Hence, I assumed she would approach me when she is available. However, she never communicated with me or let me know her availability. In my third month, I was being criticized for being too quiet and focused on my work in the company, which is perfectly normal in most corporate setting. Over here, it does not matter if your performance is good, you just have to do whatever gives the higher ranks satisfaction. This is the only company with such a mean culture among all the places I have worked at. OCBC Bank, who owns Great Eastern has a much better working environment with colleagues who are friendly and encouraging regardless of ranks. Well, not saying you should not join this company. It is just not for someone like me who wants a friendly working environment.

Pros

21 days of paid leave and 5 days MC without cert. That's basically it. The rest is nothing special.

Cons

- You are expected to work min 12 hours a day, otherwise you are still able to take more work. - If you make any small mistake, your rapport is forever tainted and you can forget about having a good relationship with your supervisor and the management. Prepare to get demoted or sacked anytime. - The managements thought they are very smart and have all the knowledge to run everything by themselves. But, if you are a good talker/writer, you can always twist and play with your words and get their full support with very little credibility. - The managements are so afraid of receiving email or phone call from business user. If they do, it will become a very big problem for you, be prepared. - Do not expect the good for nothing HR business partners to be on your side. - The key to survive here is to make sure you do your best to lick the managements' boot, that's the most important part for your performance rating and career growth

Pros

Cheap food nearby. Good colleagues.

Cons

Lack of integrity by the senior management and the human capital. In order to gain the best employer award, pressurized staffs to give positive reviews and disclose the negative comments made by the staffs if engagement level turns low. The survey comments were supposed to be kept confidential and only aggregated results will be published but yet they published the individual comments too. As a result, some of the colleagues are badly affected by it as it affects their bonuses and promotion just because they wrote negative comments.
