      Pros

      The CEO, Mike Georgio is a likable guy. He acts friendly and caring; I think he really does care about people deep down inside. He is one of the reasons I stayed as long as I did. I liked him.

      Cons

      Key point learned - The ability to manipulate people is more valuable than landscape knowledge at Gothic. Regarding leadership taking over for Mike Georgio... Jon Georgio appears to be full of himself, sometimes arrogant, also can be manipulative in employee negotiations and does it all with a smile on his face. He's like the silver spoon in his mouth youngest child with a sense of entitlement who is taking over a multi-generational accomplishment built on blood-sweat and tears, which he will summarily run into the ground in spite of his MBA (or perhaps because of it.)

      Pros

      Construction ops manager, The Georgio brothers, a family feel to the company if you’re in the right click, steady work, possible room for advancement

      Cons

      Long unappreciated hours at work, stress from regional managers looking for a pat on the head, less than average pay, being micro managed, extreme favoritism. The bottom line will always be more important than employees even with the family facade. Field personnel are merely robots. No pride in their work.

      Pros

      Good benefits and generous employer contribution. On the surface, they "care" but the whole "family" atmosphere is sort of a ruse.

      Cons

      Very cliquey and favoritism abounds. Management has biases against certain people and targets them. Violations of policies are rampant and overlooked if the correct butts are kissed. Employees clocking each other in and out is common, jokes about race, religion and gay people were pretty pervasive). Promises are made and then unfulfilled. Stress between departments is palpable and discomforting. I was told by management to expect an exit interview but it never happened.
