Great learning opportunities (You will learn a lot within a short amount of time).

Cons

Poor pay when compared to the market rates, no work-life balance, no opportunities for career progression, an extremely political environment, poor working conditions, and a lack of standard operating procedures.

Pros

They give you a Honeybaked ham every Thanksgiving. What else do you want? The dress code is business but people are generally easy going. Company is always trying to better themselves and innovate. Also regarding the review titled re: "If you're in IT and are reading this - Run!!!"..... well you’re wrong. Maybe 3 years ago it was top heavy but there are working managers in IT now. The days of “I come up with the idea you figure it out” are gone.

Cons

Deciding where to eat and dress Code.

Pros

Good health benefits, treated well by management at HQ and some nice people to work with. Major customers like McDonalds and being in the food distribution business means recession hasn't hit as badly as in other industries.

Cons

The senior management is either not concerned, or not bothered about the way the IT department is being run by the CIO. No proper guidance nor direction, blame game for every little thing, verbal and written warnings flung for everything. People are moved from roles, upwards, downwards, laterally within the blink of an eye. Nepotism and brown nosing prevails so much that complaints to HR are disregarded. Those who don't agree with the CIO are either out of the door or badly treated while those who do constantly are rewarded. Scores of people have left, some who had been with the company for many years, some who had tremendous skill and experience. Those remaining are scared for their job and scared to say anything. Do yourself a favor - stay away.
