Pros

Decent starting pay with a sign-on bonus along with a referral bonus (if you or someone you know is hired through referrals) referral pay doesn't come through until after 90 days of employment. Medical coverage starting day 1 which is better than the usual 90 wait period for most companies. Dental, PTO, floating holidays and maternity leave.

Cons

You're required to use your own earned PTO for their mandatory shutdowns, which makes it impossible to really use it when your sick or need to take a day off. A huge CON is the toxic culture perpetuated at the Merrimack location. A lot of the employees know each other or have referred a large portion of their friends and family to the company. It sounds good in theory to have an opportunity to work with people you know but the long-term employees have created a "clique" like toxic atmosphere for the new hires. Bullying and Harassment is rampant and hard to mediate. Employee retention is obviously something companies strive for but this makes it next to impossible to resolve issues of harassment or bullying within the workplace. No one gets written up for bullying, swearing, or creating a hostile working environment for their peers. Nothing is really done about it either

Pros

They will pay you, sort of.

Cons

Horrible management at all levels throughout all departments. Expect to be lied to on a regular basis. They hold their employees to a much higher standard than they are willing to meet themselves. Incredibly dense silo mentalities, restrictive and archaic command chains, ignorant technophobes, and double-standards are the norm here. Unless you are part of the "in-crowd", expect to be treated like garbage. If you are looking to work second shift, just don't bother reading past this review. Second shift employees are treated more like animals than people. Second shift does not promote or allow any sort of individual growth or learning. Expect to be treated like children. Quality system is a joke. It is regularly undermined by production needs. Potentially bad or contaminated product is sent out routinely. If you point out a problem or offer a solution, one of two things will happen: a) your idea is stolen, or b) you are ignored and later held accountable. Expect your pleas to go unanswered. HR is useless. They are far more focused on saving the company money than actually providing a good work environment. To illustrate this, we have a suggestion box in the cafeteria. The only suggestions that are taken are ones that directly and immediately maximize profit. Any time we are brought together to learn something or have a "town hall", we are basically treated to a slide-show of bull. They like to constantly tell us about new initiatives and goals that we met, but it's all a charade. For instance, we were told how fantastic our sales and production was, then suddenly they shut down third shift without notice ad we're all left scratching our heads. They are obsessed with selling this false identity of "core values" that they plastered all over the walls of the building. The core values include such basic things as collaboration and openness, yet the company as a whole consistently fails to abide by the values they advertise. Not only are they not open (honest) with us about their plans, but they refuse to let us be part of the solution. We are more often made subjects than participants. As you can see, there really isn't much nice to say about Getinge. In my years here, I have seen the company go from the best employer most of us ever had, to the absolute worst place we've ever worked and a black hole that everyone is desperately trying to escape.

Pros

Good salary, however, not sure if its worth the cost of giving up your personal life to work for them.

Cons

Worst experience I've ever had in my career. Stay away! Everything the other reviews mention about unethical Sr. management, poor overall management, clueless HR, useless training is 100% on the money. Sr. Management is only concerned with their own advancement or helping out those who promote their agendas and not about developing employees. There is NO clear direction and this is every day in this environment. Most people don't even know who they're reporting to. HR is the biggest disappointment. They manipulate policies to benefit bad employees, yet they claim they are here to help. PLEASE DON'T leave your job for this company. You will be sorry for getting involved with this train wreck. The price you pay by giving up your dignity, and personal life is not worth anything close to any salary they offer you.
