Pros

The training provided was superb. Everything you needed to know was covered and in some cases discussed in depth. Pay was not bad.

Cons

Expectations that were promised to clients were absolutely unrealistic. Every quarterly review there was a chance you were going to be let go because management needed to explain why goals were not attained. If by some miracle the goal was reached, it was then increased immediately to an even more unrealistic level. This will go on until you leave or used as a scapegoat and let go.

Scare Tactics

Pros

The starting pay is what gets you in the door. The friends you make makes the job tolerable.

Cons

Because they are contracted in, you are at the whim of the contract. But it seems that the company itself is not above scare tactics to get their employees to do what needs to be done to KEEP the contract. Working in a panicked environment is not healthy and your employees will burn out in the long run.

Pros

Great learning exposure from working at different client sites

Cons

Inconsistent HR policy. Wide variation in salaries. Sometimes managers earn more than Assistant Vice Presidents in the same city. No policy around bonus - some have it and some don't in their offer letters - no explanation why. HR is unresponsive - when asked pertinent questions they choose to ignore and think it is okay to do so. Management does not like questions. If asked questions about career growth that they cannot answer, management goes vindictive and tries to take it out on the employee in other ways. They have no career plan for most people - just assign people randomly to projects. Once they send people overseas they choose to ignore - out of sight out of mind. They are also hypocritical - they say their policy is one Genpact - and people should have a career here and move freely around the company - but when asked for a transfer to another department - they refuse and make it extremely difficult for the employee. They would rather have an experienced employee leave the company than move to another department.
