Pros

You will gain a vast amount of insight into health and nutrition via the companies incredible product line. Working here WILL diversify your portfolio, because you will be asked to take on more responsibilities throughout your invariably short career. The only real Pro I can think of is getting your foot in the door of the health beverage industry.

Cons

Upper management is under qualified for the tasks at hand and rarely look out for lesser employees best interests. Instead, amongst themselves they bad mouth employees, both past and current. If you ever quit voluntarily, you will be referred to as being 'purposefully forced out, like toxins within the body in ongoing efforts to detoxify the company.' If you are fired, your character will be defamed to 'boost' company morale in subsequent meetings. Employee retention is the worst I've ever witnessed; in one year the company lost more than 75 employees, most of which were professional individuals leaving voluntarily so as not to allow their resume to be tarnished by this company. Don't take time to get to know anyone; odds are one of you won't be around long enough to develop any kind of relationship with one another. The process for review is also extremely weak. More than likely the person conducting your review will either not take it serious, the process will change, or the person conducting your review will either quit or be fired. When employees are terminated, no mention of it is given to anyone and you gain a real sense that you're being watched and listened to at all times. Say the wrong thing, and you'll be out the door as well. There is no trust or leeway given to any employee, regardless of your education and professional experience. Salary and hourly employees alike are required to clock in and out using a hand-scanner. While most work can be accomplished from home, no one is ever allowed to do so. All forms of paperwork and record keeping are tedious and time consuming beyond reason, while you'll still be expected to finish all of your normal work. Creativity is squashed or ignored all together. The more talented you are, the more you'll be repressed and the longer you'll have to wait to see your ideas go nowhere. No clear answer is ever given and if you hear a positive bit of feedback one day, the next you'll be back at square one as if it never occurred. Change management is incredibly poor. Departmental changes occur at random and without real explanation or reasoning.

Pros

The offices are nice and they have plenty of parking

Cons

All of the good management team left once the minion of the owner came back. All of the good practices and the employee appreciation left the same day they were gone. The only thing left is a nice office space with poor business practices and the employees live in fear every day. The side kick of the owner ridicules whoever doesn’t agree with her even though she is clueless. She is not scared to use the CFO as her puppet and as a result employees have lost respect for the rest of the management team (CFO and the other VP, just two left!). She doesn’t have any education, experience or skills of any kind in manufacturing. She is busy gossiping and investigating “conspiracies” against her or the owner that creates a disrespectful culture of secrecy and gossip. Everybody is disrespectful to each other and the poor practices are permeating within the organization. There is no camaraderie or even honesty between the employees. This is a back stabbing culture at its best and the management team fires people with whom they have minimal disagreement. This company was so close to being well run with the old management team. Now it is back to its old dirty practices. My best advice is stay away from this company. The “management team” is incompetent, and the morale and the culture of the rest of the employees is lost. There are plenty of options out there for your family and your own sanity so don’t come here!

Pros

If you have no other option for employment in the Austin area, then sure, you can gain some experience at Genesis Today and pay your bills. The only pro of working here was having some fun and friendly coworkers, but since almost everyone has been fired off or let go, that's irrelevant now.

Cons

Genesis Today is itself, a con. The CEO is a slave-driving nut job. 9AM - 6PM mandated schedule with no flexibility. The office culture is insufferable. And management has no idea how to run a legitimate business. I feel sorry for the people who work at Genesis Today. Benefits are subpar, and so are the wages. The employees are forced to operate under ridiculous rules and guidelines. Not to mention, the company is under fire for breaking laws and regulations, so it could go bankrupt any day now. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this place.
