George Gallup Senior is Probably Rolling in His Grave and Yes, Mr. Clifton, You are the Emperor "With No Clothes"
Pros
Wizard-of-Oz type of recruiting as there are lies, damned lies, abominations, statistics, then there is Gallup.
Cons
Questionable-wording in questionnaires create questionable and biased results. Quota-systems for how many surveys completed per hour are not accurate and more times than not, unachievable unless interviewers under-report actual hours worked on projects, which is "falsifying" worksheets. Apparently, none of these employees are terminated for this practice, in fact, they are "rewarded" for their "outstanding productivity" and given office recognition. But the ones that do report their "actual" hours and express their frustrations with the quotas being too ridiculously high, or bias in the wording of the questions get terminated. They are informed that they are not being team players and have falsified a survey, therefore, they are terminated. Once these honest employees are terminated and have left the building, rumors are spread by supervisors that these employees have been falsifying many surveys and they have the tapes to prove it. The culture of the company creates a closed-door of communication between these fired employees and the remaining employees by telling them that if it found out that they have communicated with them (the fired), they will be terminated also. Jim Clifton and his family are finding out the hard way
