Pros

A lot of very brilliant and driven people

Cons

One of the worst experiences of my career and life in general. You're not really hired as a full time employee, it's more like you've become a piece of DQ's furniture that she will move around at any time depending on how she feels that day. Compensation is terrible and you're treated an intern - there's a pervasive culture of fear below anyone who isn't a partner. Despite running the ASU+GSV Summit, the firm isn't really taken that seriously by other EdTech VCs because it is so chaotic and hectic that it can't perform basic functions. It is a revolving door as the partners have a way of bringing out the absolute worst in people - I would strongly suggest reaching out to former employees about their experience here before accepting the job. There is only one nice partner and it won't take you too long to figure out who he is. Culture is also very pretentious and elitist, won't hire anyone from a non-prestigious school, which is fine but hypocritical given the rhetoric about education. If you have a normal communication style, you just won't fit in here, the people are all insane and you have to be insane too in order to succeed.

Pros

Some really smart people, a lot of different things going on, wants to be larger than life. Mantra is bigger, faster, more = better

Cons

So scatter-brained, essentially an imposisble environment to work in. Would be a fun summer job to learn about edtech, but basically none of anything made any sense, in any regard, ever. If I didn't have any clear objectives and just wanted to try doing a bunch of random things, this would be perfect. But in terms of getting compensated and having a career path, the whole firm's existence is confusing to me. Also, almost all of the Partners were mean, like almost happy when people would fail which I thought was weird
