Pros

My fellow coworkers, manager, maintenance supervisors, residents and vendors are some of the best people I've had the absolute pleasure in working for and with. On a property that had a bad reputation when I arrived, having these professional associations helped make me make this a better property! I thank you all! This company as a whole is one of the best on many different levels. The usual pay, benefits, etc. are all better than the norm, with many options, bonuses and motivators help make employees glad to be here.

Cons

As with some businesses, there can be a few bad apples. I've only experienced two in this company and, unfortunately, this gives the entire GSL a bad name from me. Severe degradation of morale, belittlement, condescending comments, micromanaging, as well as flat-out lies from a couple higher-ranking employees... was experienced all within the few days of their arrival to the property. So far, it looks like I will be the last one of the original crew of seven who will be stepping off this sinking ship. I'm not sure of the reasoning behind their establishment of a hostile environment, if other than just to step on as many peoples' heads as possible in order to make themselves seem superior, in charge, and all knowing. Wikipedia's page on Micromanagement has this new leader's profile spot-on. And it's unfortunate that there are now residents experiencing this aggravation, as well. In an employee meeting we had, they told us that we were to identify "problem residents" and people who would give bad online reviews about them, so that these people could be evicted through any lease infractions found. So there's that... If it wasn't for these two problem people in higher-ranking positions, I would give the entire GSL Properties FIVE STARS. But, since I'm now having to find a different job and will have to move off the property because of this (after me being here for less than a year), I'm forced to give this company ONE STAR ONLY for their failure to identify the real problem(s) before an entire [awesome!!] crew had to bail out of here. I will also suggest to steer clear of this company - whether it's for employment, contract, or a new apartment. I don't feel that would be beneficial to anyone.
