      I miss the old GCI

      Pros

      I've been at GCI for close to 20 years and have always loved the ability to learn & grow and find new career paths within the company.

      Cons

      The past 18 months have been incredibly challenging. There has been constant restructuring within GCIB and not all for the best. Change is constant and communication about these changes has been less than satisfactory to say it politely. Employees no longer feel secure and morale on the Business side at least is the lowest I've ever seen it. Great people have left, are leaving or feel like they are being forced out.

      Pay... That is about it.

      Cons

      In the year I worked for the company, most of the non-white employees either quit or were fired. I myself am white so I was safe, but it was weird to see this and just gave me a creepy feeling. I am not from Alaska which is probably the reason I noticed it at all. None of the Alaskans seemed to notice or care about this trend. Most whites reading this review will probably not care or may even view it as a plus. For non-white individuals... be careful. Aside from the creepy racism, I would say this is a great place to work if you don't like to work. Most people are paid a full time salary for part time work. I would have stayed here forever, but I actually like to work and wanted to learn more about my profession than this company could offer.

      Pros

      Great pay for the area, ok benefits such as medical , however basically free cable, and cheap wireless service

      Cons

      Medical sucks, super office politics at play. If you have recommendations keep them to yourself, all upper management are going to take it as hostile and reply as such. Basically beat you into submission in how they want you and want to treat you
