Pros

- Hybrid, 3 days WFO, 2 days WFH - Unlimited snacks, coffees, ice creams in the pantries - Free breakfast provided on certain day - Festival/ birthday celebration - Gym, badminton, hiking - Accessible with public transport

Cons

- Excessive freedom in the workplace has led to a lack of discipline. Employees are frequently coming in late. A small group of individuals actively boycotted others has formed within the team. This clique-like behavior and unhealthy culture of gossip, from the treasury and seniors finance team, has created a very uncomfortable work environment. - Lack of leadership in the team has caused persistent culture of gossiping negatively during working hours, resulting in important tasks often get delayed and drag on without a sense of urgency. - Management tends to show favouritism, which creates an unfair environment. - The team experiences a high turnover rate, which leads to constant changes in the team and affects overall team productivity. - Some of the colleagues of the team unwilling to return lunch expenses as agreed to be AA, despite the bills has split and shared it in group.

Pros

Friendly colleagues, free activities such as badminton, gym access, and hiking. Facilities include a coffee machine, FarmFresh milk, MacBooks, and monitors. Two days of work from home and birthday celebrations are also provided. AWS services environment.

Cons

The HR and risk management departments frequently ask for irrelevant personal information, such as other sources of income and past actions, for unclear purposes. This feels intrusive and unnecessary—why should it matter if I earn more than my salary from other sources? This constant prying only adds to the overall dissatisfaction and mistrust within the company. HR also asks new joiners to give 5-star reviews on Glassdoor to artificially boost the company's rating, further undermining trust. They have a habit of spreading unverified information and making fake promises, which contribute to the toxic environment. The management at this company is poor, requiring us to constantly guess our supervisors' thoughts and treat them exceptionally well to avoid receiving bad KPIs, which results in no bonuses or salary increments. Salaries and benefits are below industry standards, and the company attempts to attract senior talent with inadequate compensation. Job roles and responsibilities are ambiguous, with positions often not matching their described roles. Juniors are handling senior-level tasks, seniors are doing lead-level work—in short, roles are a mess. Communication is also poor. Changes in requests or workflow are not communicated, forcing us to guess and constantly seek information. The company provides limited exposure to new technologies, preferring to stick with their current tools—it's like using a spanner for cooking or a spatula to change engine oil. They never conduct cost reviews and continue using expensive AWS services without considering alternatives. Instead of exploring better software architectures and solutions that could reduce AWS costs, the company could allocate those savings to offer better salary increments to team members. The pantry is stocked with so-called healthy food, but options are limited and only restocked once a week. Additionally, the pantry is infested with cockroaches, making it an unpleasant place to be.

- There has been a noticeable increase in employee turnover, with many developers leaving the company - The work environment is challenging, with what appears to be significant office politics. - Preference for certain technical stacks, which may limit opportunities for those with different skill sets. - Project timelines often feel unrealistic, leading to rushed launches or delays, sometimes resulting in quality issues. - Compensation structure includes limited bonuses and modest salary increases. - Leadership could benefit from improved technical knowledge and project management skills. - Management have no idea what they are doing, crazy believe on AI to replace developer Addon to HR response : - Asking new join staff to leave good reviews just for surface reputation is not cool at all, thats the core reason that i leaving review here - Transparent policy on increment, KPI & bonus, not personal preference =] - It's important to recognize that microservices and serverless are distinct architectural patterns, hope you and your technical lead know about that - Consider prioritizing employee well-being and job satisfaction. They are human, not your tools / slave - Foster an inclusive culture that values diverse perspectives. you are no longer a family business or china-pek small business. - Embrace collaborative decision-making processes that consider input from all team members, regardless of background or position.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're sorry to hear that your experience didn't meet your expectations, but we appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns. We strive to define a high-level technology strategy that allows our development teams to collaborate effectively and share knowledge across the company. While we do set some guidelines to maximize synergy, we remain open to engineers choosing the AWS services that best fit our serverless microservice design pattern. This balance helps us maintain consistency while allowing for innovation. We highly value the exchange of ideas within our teams. We encourage respectful challenges to ideas, cultivating an environment where the best solutions win, regardless of their origin. This collaborative approach ensures that every team member has a voice and that the best ideas are implemented. Regarding project timelines, we believe in empowering our engineers to set realistic timelines for their tasks. The majority of project ETAs are proposed by the engineers themselves after task allocation. In cases where a hard deadline is set, it typically stems from external factors or requirements, and we do our best to communicate these constraints clearly. As for AI, our focus is on enhancing the productivity of our engineers, not replacing them. We see AI as a tool to help our team stay competitive and efficient, supporting their expertise and creativity rather than replacing it. We're continuously working to improve and create a positive environment for all our employees. If you'd like to discuss your experience further, please don't hesitate to reach out directly. Your feedback is invaluable to us.
