Pros

High case load equals experience. High turnover means accelerated advancements. Trial experience if you are not afraid to go for it.

Cons

Awful, ineffective, and inexperienced attorneys in managing positions. Power trip by anyone who remotely has any authority (chiefs, executive secretary, finance lady, lead legal assistants). Management places blame on staff and attorneys not in management for low morale and high turnover rates, but never takes a look at themselves to determine what they can do to keep employees. Unethical practice of subjecting attorneys to commit ineffective assistance of counsel by not allowing attorneys to conflict out on cases when attorneys are at capacity. Low and degrading county pay plus operating at 50-60 hours of work a week (salary - no overtime) to somewhat effectively review each case. No one cares that you go into the office three hours early, but everyone will notice if you leave a minute before 5:00 p.m.
