Exciting place, but not for the faint hearted
Pros
- Entrepreneurial mindset with it's pros & cons: the co-founders are the managing partners and are the ultimate decision makers, they care about everything in the company in the sense that they are very much involved in everything. The pros are that they are ex-operations consultants themselves so they've been through everything that the team goes through everyday. It's a pro because where it matters they've got your back, and where it doesn't they know how, where and when to push you further. - Performance is what matters: as the company grows so do the inevitable politics, but the culture of the founders and the senior management is all about performance. This is reflected in project and career reviews, and in how the managing partners treat everyone. They do not care about your background, race, nationality, and so forth but purely about your performance. If you are a high performer but never knew how to play politics in a bigger company, then this is the right place for you. If you're into the corporate politics, this is the last place you should come to. Same if you're not willing to perform. - Flat hierarchies on the inside: everyone can talk to anyone internally. Sure, when you're facing the client you play by the rules and responsibilities of your role, but when you're not at the client it is flat. Anyone can approach the senior management anytime. There are no secretaries and private offices for them, they are always reachable in person, phone, WhatsApp, Teams, etc... and this important as feedback, concerns, and information can be quickly shared and responded to. Though it is often direct (see the "no politics" above) - COVID: no redundancies, no pay cuts, bonus from previous year was fully paid out in spite of many consultants not being on project for over 6 months. Not many other companies did the same. - Ability to evolve: company is integrating its operational consulting strengths into new offerings in the digital transformation, digital disruption and private equity directions.
