      Tense environment that breads animosity.

      Pros

      Stability is great. Potential for investments are great due current acquisition by a mutual insurance company Flexible work hours Opportunity to work on complex systems Insurance knowledge transfer

      Cons

      Leadership is lacking Lack of accountabilty Very disorganized Respect for personal life is non-existent No educational assistance Small business culture is gone since the acquisition.

      Great until the buyout

      Pros

      Flexible with remote working Great relationship among employees. It's a friendly atmosphere and the staff is great with helping each other out... With the expectations, that becomes necessary for survival. There used to be a promote from within mentality... but that seems to be done away with.

      Cons

      Micro-management. A "don't question authority" mentality: Utica knows best. They say that employee feedback is important just before they make changes that completely ignore, or take into consideration those same employees. They ask for too much and appreciate too little. Unfortunately, as others have mentioned, the buyout was the "beginning of the end."

      A good place for junior developers to gain experience

      Pros

      If you are just starting out as a developer this is a good place to gain experience. You will learn N-Tier architecture

      Cons

      An experienced developer will not find much to keep him/her here. They are still using 2.0 framework and you will get permanently attached to a project. The pay rate is about 20% below market rate.
