Led by the rich elite

Pros

It is really hard to say.

Cons

This company used to be a relatively flat hierarchical workplace with diversity of thought encouraged and risk taking the norm. Neurodiverse creatives partnered with smart system thinkers to power innovation. That was until the 2015 IPO. On that day the directors got rich and powerful (£2-5 million share payouts). These directors claim low salaries: but don’t be fooled. They’re millionaire directors with 20 year tenures of supreme power. They are un-shiftable gods keeping each other in power, in perpetuity. No one is going to fire these directors. They are part of the elite family club. A secret mafia of sorts. Join the company but realise no-one will ever flourish under these titans, some of whom have never worked in another company. The Chairman could change this. Why hasn’t he? That is a question everyone (including shareholders) should be often asking.

Declining in workplace value

Pros

Good people and cool products. Good opportunities if you are willing to work for it.

Cons

The company's growing but there's lack of organisation due to the turnover of staff. Staff turnover is high because the company is smashing targets, and building wealth for the shareholders, bragging about it but then salaries are low and remain low year on year. Lots of benefits have been stripped back over time, we're losing benefits more than we gain, despite the company being in a better position.

Pros

Working with talented and dedicated colleagues has been a highlight, fostering a collaborative and inspiring atmosphere. The new office space is top-notch! Focusrite boasts market-leading products, a testament to its innovation and quality.

Cons

The company struggles with recognising individual contributions, leaving many employees feeling undervalued. The future product roadmap lacks innovation and inspiration, raising concerns about the company's adaptability. Some long-term employees especially in higher management lack a fresh perspective, potentially hindering progress. Low compensation has led to a significant employee exodus, jeopardizing institutional knowledge. The company has a reluctance to admit failures and learn from them, inhibiting growth.
