Pros

Good location, Good perks and meals.

Cons

Too much politics is going on in such a small place. Everyone wants to be a "leader", but no one wants to do the actual work. Those who backbite, complain, and ruin the culture are encouraged by the Indian management team. Especially the HR Ops team has no clue what is going on. A lot of nepotism, blatant vendor corruption and no real whistleblower system exists. If you whistleblow, you are penalised by those who are supposed to safeguard you.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. We take allegations of this nature seriously. We have established governance, conflict-of-interest, and vendor management processes in place to support fair and ethical practices across the organization. We also maintain a formal whistleblower policy, which allows concerns to be raised confidentially and reviewed based on evidence. Raising specific concerns through these formal channels enables them to be assessed appropriately. If you are still part of the organization, we encourage you to connect with your HRBP or leadership team for a direct conversation. Open dialogue helps ensure concerns are understood and addressed.

Pros

1) Free SkyTV 2) Learning and development - time is provided, so is a £1000 budget, and you can use Udemy for free

Cons

1) Big LT micromanage everything! 2) A huge project is underway to align the 3 UKI businesses onto the same technology platform, however, the tech stack being used, and migrated to is over 10 years old, one example is parts of the organisation is on AWS, but as part of this tech consolidation, Flutter is moving back to on-prem, with the view of then moving back to cloud - this not only is bonkers, but deskills Engineers making it hard for them to keep up with the latest tech, and get to use it in practice 3) Big LT set ridiculous timescales and constantly put meetings in on a daily basis on how 'things need to be brought to the left' and get stuff shipped, even if it is wrong, and even if it means the customer loses out on functionality 4) Engineers are seen as resource and numbers not humans 5) There are a lot of people who are toxic, who behave really bad, and bully others, and Big LT don't give a damn. They'd rather remove the person who raises these issues than the people who display these abhorrent behaviours 6) They just 'remove' people from the company and even stated in a Town Hall, that 'they are dealing with those who don't support the current project of aligning tech by silently removing them from the organisation' 7) They only care about money, and they preach about how many billions they are making in Town Halls, and how they want to grow their market share, and move to the next slide to announce redundancies and how people need to support their colleagues (they clearly need advice on how to host Town Halls) 8) They would rather dozens of teams of Engineers be sat twiddling their thumbs, for months on end, than let them do any other work bar this tech migration 9) They have an awful culture which just seems to be progressively getting worse, which is really sad, as I joined Sky Bet some 10 years ago, which was amazing, until Flutter took over 10) So much red tape!! I can't do my job without having to ask dozens of others if I can do it, and boundaries between roles are very blurred 11) There is no consistency between Squads and Tribes - so Engineers get a different experience depending on who their manager is 12) Every deliverable is MVP!! Everything has to be done fast, compromising on functionality, quality and tech, which is frustrating for Engineers who want to do the best they can, but are powerless to do anything other - this leads to an awful lot of tech debt, which LT promises can be focused on after the deliverable has been released, but this never gets picked up as the next big deliverable becomes the focus, required asap so becomes MVP and round the cycle we go again
