Internal "Politics" Ruined a Fantastic Culture
Pros
Flexible work hours - but is flexibility even considered a pro in 2021?
Cons
Once upon a time, flexigroup (now humm group ??) had an amazing culture. You were encouraged to do what you believed was right for the business and people were always the number one priority. But on one sunny day the Australia side of the business took over (a.k.a. "the step mom") and ruined it to almost every single person in NZ. The bullying and back-stabbing culture took place and it soon became a VERY toxic environment. For the last couple of years people were being made redundant right, left and center. 4 Restructures in 2 years, no pay rises in the last year (unless you were close to the right person) and although the company was making significant profit, no incentive payments were paid out either ("we need to save money" is all we ever heard, but keep in mind they rebranded at least twice in the same period) . Management and executive team didn't seem to care if you complained about lack of leadership and support from direct managers - even if there was bullying involved in the complain (please include formal complain here). Zero transparency. Zero acknowledgement. Zero motivation. Execs talk too much about providing the best service for external customers but couldn't show the same compassion for its own people. No wonder everybody is leaving humm group. It wouldn't be a surprise if there were over 100 vacancies between NZ and AUS at the moment. DO NOT WORK HERE. Waste of time and energy. Your excitement will soon turn into misery and perhaps depression. Rated them 1 start for the good souls I met along the way.
