You need to learn about 7 different systems just to do your job. Information comes at you from too many forums and angles. Have cellphone? You have to be MARRIED to that thing. Constant pressure to cut headcount in business units that are already suffering from staff that are over-stretched. "Do more with less" is the catch-cry. HR are the worst at following the standards and processes they demand of the rest of the business The ethics of stitching up the market in a way that competitors can't compete is a large part of the reason the cost of building in NZ is ridiculously high. Well known in the industry as the 'mafia'.
