Pros

I am stealing this review from a colleague because it's simply too eloquent and accurate to improve upon, particulary in the most recent months at this company: Communication! They love it. They hold a meeting about having a meeting, and still manage to leave everyone more confused than a chameleon in a bag of Skittles. Better have a meeting to clarify! Mandatory team-building activities! Cringe-worthy events where they force us to bond by writing our fears and sharing with your coworkers over zoom. I'd rather swim with sharks wearing a meat suit than participate in another one of those. Bonuses are a part of compensation- but just don't expect them to be paid. Paid once in last 4 years.

Cons

Management always talking about "open-door policies" and "ask me anything" but it's like searching for Bigfoot or Atlantis when you actually need their help. If you've always wondered what it's like to work in a circus, here is your chance.

Pros

Great brands, long heritage, nice HQ in Espoo Finland, international colleagues, discounts on own products

Cons

In a recent "All Hands Call" the Chief People Officer replied to a question about Glassdoor score going down: "Yes, the Glassdoor scores are 'fluctuating' I would say (laughter). People usually give reviews on Glassdoor, when they quit their jobs. I would encourage everyone who works for us and actually likes to work here to go in and give your scores. That would help a lot." I would say this is an excellent example of the lack of leadership skills in our management team and speaks loudly to the culture. All senior leaders present in the call and nobody added anything (including CEO). Inspired by her wishes, here is my score. Constant restructuring. Lack of leaders/leadership. Unrealistic goals. New plans/slides but never real action on those. Talks about values and "growth code" (behaviours/actions expected from the employees) but those are empty words in the everyday. No channel strategy so constant confict between own channels and retailers. Very short-sighted decisions to hit this quarter's numbers on the expense of the next quearter/year and this is justified by saying "there is no long-term without the short-term" My advice is to avoid this place. I will also leave as soon as I get something else!

Pros

Really fun people work here, if you can escape enough of the office politics. Fiskars tools are really good, and the employee discount is excellent.

Cons

Middle to upper management is so concerned with being let go that they micromanage everything. There is almost no hope of advancing unless one of the leadership team really likes you, but middle management makes sure you get almost no face-time with any of the upper management. Management says they want to improve and have an open door policy, however, in practice this is not the case.
