They aren't who they say they are

Pros

I met some of the most amazing people and thoroughly enjoyed the work I got to do. I'm giving two stars instead of one because of the people.

Cons

The company talks a lot about their values - two of which are accountability and doing the right thing. The c-suite (all male) doesn't live by these values. They don't hold each other accountable to doing the right thing. Two of the c-suite are dating people in the company. This is common knowledge and both of these people receive preferential treatment. They fire people who speak up against them rather than addressing the issues those people brought up. The CAO and CFO are bullies who create a hostile work environment. The CEO is aware, but they are his friends and in business with him in other businesses so he cowers to them instead of requiring them to do better. Women are not respected at the top and are persistently spoken down to and underutilized.

Pros

I enjoyed working with dedicated and talented peers who cared about the client and each other. I liked the annual Steps Challenge, flexible schedules, hybrid work model, and company apparel.

Cons

The cons about First Onsite point to senior leadership, particularly the U.S.-based C-suite and Presidents East and West. 1. There is a lack of stewardship for the financial health of the company as seen by not cutting outrageous spending on fleet vehicles, sales meetings, and inconsistent pay/bonus structures. Recently over 200 employees were cut in lieu of expense reduction. 2. Most of the senior leaders are not truly aligned with the strategic vision for growth; rather than doing what is best and what is right for the company, they are more concerned with their own respective agenda. The leaders work against each other rather than working with each other. 3. The company prides itself on caring for their employees, but the reality is different. Culture, development, recognition, and pay for performance are not consistent. The culture is one where disrespectful and unprofessional behaviors (yelling, counter productive dialogue about other leaders and employees, and not following company policies) goes unaddressed.

Pros

The potential of this company (think Jerry McGuire) is endless. With the market share possibilities, strategic growth mindset and customer focus, this company can be an even bigger leader in the industry.

Cons

There is so much "good ol' boy", nepotism, favoritism and just unprofessional regard for those who work hard. If you aren't related to someone or are a "yes" man - this place is not for you. If you are blue collar, don't expect raises, promotions or bonuses as those come to the few that are favored or deemed worthy by the short-sighted C-Suite and upper leadership.
