      New Owners Ruined the Company

      Pros

      None. Previous owners of Jewelry Repair Enterprises were amazing. They offered great benefits, salary and treated their employees great! Once the new private equity firm purchased the company, everything changed.

      Cons

      Salaries and benefits reduced. They added to the work load after firing 1/3 the staff. The employees that were left had no work/life balance. Also, they took away bonuses. Number of franchised locations is declining as well.

      The "anonymous" former employee is uninformed and/or deceitful. I won't discuss the former owners other than to say it is a good thing that they are former owners. Salaries and Benefits were not reduced. There was a reduction of employees based on the size of the company. A number of functions have been outsourced for greater geographic efficiency. Bonuses were not taken away! Salaries have increased every year, and bonuses have been paid out every year, based on performance. Work/Life balance is far better than it has ever been at this company. The number of Franchised locations is not declining. Whoever "anonymous" is has proven him or her self to be a master of misinformation. Fast-Fix Jewelry and Watch Repairs remains a vibrant 30+ year old company with a wonderful future ahead of it.

      Pros

      Unique business no competition who does both jewelry and watches. Lots of freedom to do what you want and sell what you want.

      Cons

      Corporate office is a mess and lose good employees constantly because they don't know what they are doing. They are reactive instead of proactive because they are so short staffed. They say one thing one day and then it NEVER comes to fruition, they do this constantly. After the original CEO left they hired another one that did more harm than good in the 2 years he was there. They fired him and the current one is also inept just in different ways. They do not support their struggling franchisees they only support the ones who do well. I wasted 10 years of my life and have ruined my credit because of this business.

      Considering everything the company did for this Franchisee to help her out of, a self created, difficult situation. We are disheartened by these comments. We know this individual from a previous company and were delighted to cross paths with her again several years ago. It is not unusual for someone to want to lash out at others for their own shortcomings. The personal attacks, however, are totally unwarranted. Interestingly, we hired the original founder/CEO back into the company two years ago. We wish her well in her future endeavors.
