Pros

You get a discount on HelloFresh meals

Cons

Please don’t make the same mistake I did last year and work for this company. It is an absolutely toxic, chaotic nightmare that made me have multiple breakdowns throughout the week. Let’s start with management: there is no actual accountability, as every single person in a higher position is either related, married, or bffs from high school (except for one woman who’s outside of the family. She is incredible and exempt from this, but if she’s not your lead, may God have mercy on your soul). These people clearly have gotten in over their heads, as no one actually knows how to lead their teams. Textbook micromanaging is rampant, as you have to tell your managers when you go to the bathroom, and they will barrage you with messages to do an impossible amount of work in a laughable amount of time. Another “fun” fact is that NONE of management thinks that COVID is real. During my training at the height of the pandemic, no masks were worn, people were in close contact with one another, and the family (sorry, management) decided to all take a vacay together to a Covid hotspot! So wise! Then there’s the position itself. Do you like having people cuss you out and scream at you for 40 hours a week? No? Too bad, because you’ll have to cater to their every need, regardless of some of the absolute vitriol they yell at you over the phone. But better not take that abuse for too long though, otherwise your team lead will message you asking why your ticket count is so low. You’re also going to be asked every day to work overtime, because there’s literally thousands of emails to answer, but they don’t want to hire more people to handle the workload. There’s been multiple employees who have quit after less than a week, and honestly I don’t blame them. It is a never ending hell. I PRAY that Hellofresh can pick up the pieces and fix this shoddily managed company, because the need is dire. You know at the beginning of a horror movie, where someone warns the main character of impending doom? I am that voice right now, telling you NOT to work for this company, and spare yourself the emotional abuse and nervous breakdowns. FYI, all these 5 star reviews on Glassdoor? Those are from management. The former head of customer experience who left the review is the CEO’s wife, so let that sink in. Go work for just HelloFresh instead, they actually care about their employees!

Pros

- Great pay - Even better benefits

Cons

- Absolutely zero training yet expected to know how to do everything (their "training" is literally throwing you straight onto the line with zero understanding of what you should be doing and then yelling at you when you get it wrong) - Impossible to communicate with anyone unless you are fluent in Spanish - Chaotic - Stuffy environment (people were literally eating lunch while sitting on the floor of the cafeteria because of the lack of space and being forced to take breaks on campus) - If you cannot speak Spanish I cannot stress how impossible the job becomes seeing as even management cannot communicate with english-only speaking employees (my first day ended without even knowing who the managers were, I was introduced to absolutely no one) - incredibly messy environment, literally stepping on and slipping on dropped food - Little regard for the presentation of meals, food was thrown all over the plates to keep up with conveyor speed - No way to keep track of time, zero clocks anywhere - The process of plating food did not feel very sanitary as people were picking food up from the dirty conveyor belt and putting it back onto plates and other foods were splashed on your hands as everyone tossed food everywhere so you would be reaching to grab broccoli with chicken juice on your hands
