Pros

Above average pay, but competitors are catching up fast Decent benefits, particularly if you're grandfathered into the old pension plans Some departments are better than others If you are in the union your job and pay are pretty safe

Cons

Vague, reactive, uninvolved management, addicted to the buzzwords of the day Absolutely no leadership from upper management Massively dysfunctional industry Ultra-toxic culture in some departments Company has given up entirely on work-life balance in the name of cost cutting, but there always seems to be money to create another director or VP spot for someone to sit in until they retire.

Pros

Really talented and hardworking co-workers.

Cons

No growth for people of color. It is a good old boy company. I have plenty of proof to make my case but instead of making a big deal on it I want to leave. HR is not for the employees and they know there is a management issue, but they keep supporting racist manager instead employee. It's really sad because if could be a great company. BTW I will leave on my own after seeing 2 years of open racism.

Stay away from Nuclear

Pros

Decent pay & good bonus program. 4 floating holidays a year on top of vacation days. Some positions have flex-time and work from home opportunities. Benefits are fairly competitive although the 401k match could be better.

Cons

Training opportunities have gotten bad due to cost cutting in the last couple of years and IT does not like to pay for certifications at all (a HUGE con in the IT world). In nuclear there are not many development opportunities but that is not the case in the larger organization.
