Pros

Great mission and goals of servicing charter schools and helping children succeed. Nice office space in Santa Monica. You will go far if you are a type A personality, build relationships with key players from the start, are thick skinned, and always willing long hours.

Cons

Upper management has direct access to the clients and attends their board meetings but does not include middle managers in all the meetings, build cohesive structure, with clear communication or offer career progression from day one. Each client has own policies and procedures which are known by upper management and shared with other employees once they make mistakes. Expectations are high and support is minimal. It's a sink or swim environment. Turnover is high and salaries are low.

Pros

The regular associates are nice and extremely intelligent people. The mission statement is nice but it's all a facade.

Cons

Pay is lousy...benefits are lousy...with the exception of 2 of the VPs management is lousy....especially the woman in charge who's name escapes me. This organization is beholden to LAUSD and all the ridiculous politics that goes along with it. Human Resources is unethical and they will lie straight to your face in order to cover their behinds

Pros

- The work done by this nonprofit is good for low-income public charter schools. We helped ensure the schools were fiscally responsible and could continue to concentrate on their mission of providing equal opportunity to a quality education.

Cons

Some managers that have been there for years are terrible micromanagers that prevent their team from getting work done, regardless of how many times the team has proved capable of self-managing and meeting deadlines and producing quality results. These managers have been given feedback over and over related to this but never improve, so their teams are a revolving door of employees. - they sing the birthday song at every Monday morning meeting when someone has a birthday and it is so slow and sad! It reminds me of office space. - At best, the HR representative has consistently been uninspiring and of no help to employees.
