Pros

ability to work from home good benefits

Cons

I've never felt compelled to write a review on Glassdoor before, but my experience at Evolve has been so dreadful that I feel a moral obligation to warn potential employees. This company is a textbook example of how not to run a business. I've had the misfortune of witnessing firsthand the complete train wreck that is Evolve, and it's nothing short of a nightmare. Let's start with the CEO, Brian Egan. To put it bluntly, he's either grossly incompetent or an outright liar. Every time he opens his mouth, he spins new stories, and it's nearly impossible to discern if he genuinely believes them himself or if he's just trying to pull the wool over everyone's eyes. The lack of transparency is appalling, and it's clear that he has not surrounded himself with intelligent, experienced people who could help steer this sinking ship. The senior leadership team is equally culpable in this corporate catastrophe. They hide behind a veil of vague messaging that allows them to pull the rug out from under their employees at any moment. They refuse to take responsibility for their poor decision-making and seem utterly incapable of admitting when they've failed. This toxic culture trickles down throughout the organization, creating an atmosphere of fear and distrust. Financially, Evolve is a disaster waiting to happen. The company is bleeding money like a severed artery, and it's not difficult to see why. Outdated processes and product tools are the norm here, hindering productivity and efficiency at every turn. It's as if the leadership team is stuck in the past and refuses to adapt to the rapidly changing market. If the financial woes weren't enough, Evolve has had two mass layoffs within a mere three months. The future of the company is shrouded in uncertainty, and employees are constantly living in fear of losing their jobs. It's a toxic work environment that takes a significant toll on the mental and emotional well-being of its staff. To add insult to injury, Evolve is cutting teams and offshoring work in a blatant attempt to pay employees as little as possible. The disregard for the livelihoods of its workforce is shameful and morally reprehensible. If you're considering a job at Evolve, I suggest you think twice. This is a company in complete disarray, led by a CEO who either doesn't know what he's doing or is intentionally deceiving everyone. The toxic culture, financial instability, and lack of respect for employees make Evolve a place you should steer clear of at all costs. Your career and sanity deserve better than this sinking ship.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re saddened to hear that you feel we have disregarded the livelihoods of our teammates, as that truly could not be farther from the truth. Our teammates are our only path to success as a company and we have always done our best to be transparent and open about the health of our business, and communicate the “why” behind decisions that have been made. We understand this does not change your experience, but we believe this has positioned our team to have a greater understanding of our strategy moving forward, which is entirely necessary for our joint success. We remain confident in the leadership we have guiding us through these changes and while extremely difficult, know that the decisions made this year have been the right ones. Thank you again for sharing your experience and we wish you the very best moving forward.

Pros

To be honest the only thing that can remotely be considered a pro about this company is that most, but not all, of the people here are cool.

Cons

Where do I begin... 1. Pay is abysmal 2. Management is an absolute joke 3. I have had 3 managers in the last 6 months, each progressively more unqualified than the last 4. You will be micromanaged A LOT 5. You can not have a backbone, if you speak your mind you will be reprimanded 6. If you actually do have a good idea someone will "piggy back" on it and claim it as their own 7. Despite it being the companies #3 value, they do not communicate "Often, Honestly or Directly" 8. Going back to the company's values. Number 10 is Have some fun along the way. I'll be the first to say there is not a lot of fun to be had. 9. There is no respect given to employees, they act as if they are doing you a huge favor by allowing you to work there 10. You will be miserable everyday when you wake up and absolutely dread every single second you are in the office. The pro to that is that you will get really good at counting down the hours until you get to go home. Trust me there are a lot more cons that I could have written. Save yourself the time and look elsewhere. If you have no other options and are completely desperate then this is the place for you, after all they are always hiring.

While we do appreciate feedback about our structure and how we can improve, this review makes quite a lot of spurious accusations without any actual incidents that I can investigate. I can speak to pay, which is competitive for the Denver area, and our habitual communication with employees, which happens with the leadership team monthly and with managers and team leads weekly. I can also say that the only reason any employee would have multiple managers would be if they appeared to be having trouble with their work and needed additional training and support. I suppose that might be construed as “micromanagement.” We treat our employees with respect and compassion and we expect them give each other that same courtesy; if any employee undermined or “stole ideas” from their colleagues, they would be reprimanded and ultimately terminated if the behavior did not alter. As to the accusation that no one has fun here: you are indeed the first to say it. The ratio of positive to negative reviews on our Glassdoor profile is a pretty accurate representation of how our employees feel about working here; we cannot and do not post additional reviews. We’re obviously not a fit for everyone, but for many of our employees, this is an exceptional place to build a career and learn, and we’ll continue to work on hiring people who will thrive here. I’m sorry to hear you did not enjoy your time here, and I wish you the best in your future endeavors.

Pros

The company was doing great things until the end of 2022, I can't say there are ANY pros in working for Evolve any longer.

Cons

Lack of security in your position or room for growth within the company - There have been 2 major layoffs (both reducing company size by about 20%) in the last 6 months. They are no longer hiring for new positions and therefore there is nowhere to move to, even within the company Likely to be let go and replaced by someone cheaper - The most recent Reduction in Force (RIF) resulted in the removal of a couple of entire teams from our workforce. Evolve opted to replace one of those teams with "Workforce Augmentation." To my understanding this team is not US based. This basically means the workforce is cheaper, but according to Brian Egan (Co-Founder & CEO of Evolve) this is "not about choosing money over people." Increases in workload with a refusal to adjust compensation to account for such - One of the other teams removed has had a DIRECT impact on my position and the responsibilities of my role. An increase of workload and difficulty keeping up is now on the table for me
