Pros

Some decent people in the office

Cons

Commission structure is terrible, all their marketing to attract new talent is based around holidays. No surprise as the bonus is horrific. Most Senior Management are awful, all in it for themselves. Worked at 2 other recruitment consultancies and both 1000 better.

Pros

Honestly, there are very few. Good break out area, free soft drinks, most of the people are a good crack

Cons

Location is not the greatest, especially if you do not live in the Warrington locale. Directors are all overpaid and from what I could see do very little to justify it. Terrible working environment, certain individuals need to be heared over everyone else and little regard is given for other people that it is a constant distraction to. Huge emphasis on NPI which is played so a "world class" score is achieved; consultants are actively encouraged to ask for scores of 9/10 from candidates (this is not how NPI is supposed to work). Consultants work on an archaic patch based basis; if you work on the London teams, happy days, any other patch and you will struggle and will need to put in double the effort to make good money. No home working when I was there for the consultants (they just don't trust you) but back office and systems free to work from home when they please. Flexible working is offered but you will be made to feel small if you request it. Mental health and well-being initiatives are a bit of a joke. If you have the misfortune to be ill, you will be constantly hounded rather than being left to recover. Also interesting to note that as soon as a bad review is recieved on here, 3-4 counter positive reviews are left almost immediately. Company was banned from the "Best Places to Work" due to manipulation of the results (everyone was instructed to leave a five star review). If you live in the Birchwood locale and want a job that is local to you, probably worth a shot, otherwise avoid avoid avoid. Diversity within certain areas of the business is also a problem.....

Pros

The people are great (well ones below management), they're a lovely bunch and their systems are really helpful for a recruiter looking to build there market. Bare in mind that you lose that if you ever leave of course.

Cons

This is a company that believes that supporting Mental health means giving you a free Yoga class every now and then. It's a tick in the box and nothing more. That giving you your legal entitlement to unpaid sick leave (less than a week) is "going out of their way to support staff" and that you need to "just put your head into your work" when facing severe issues - medically diagnosed. Oh you'll likely get a couple of calls a day asking "so you'll be back in tomorrow then"? If you're a robot, unaffected by emotions, life troubles and pressures. You'll do well here. If you're a parent that needs flexible or remote working, forget it. The commission structure is also a little cloak and dagger. The management doesn't make it clear at first that your salary has to come out of it. So whilst they say "there's no threshold" there really is. Shop around and you can easily work for another recruitment business that will give you flexibility and fair if not better commission.
