Pros

Semi cheap bikes and accessories, that's about it. Most of the time, the staff price is the same as the sale price everywhere else!

Cons

Management who can barely manage themselves into work, let alone run a store, or manage any staff. No rotas, no support, no one cares! You have an area manager that turns up once a week to tell you how rubbish you are, but wont even say hello first. Zero people skills from the "upper middle management" Store managers are just "graduates" who have no real life skills, but have been born with a silver spoon up their backside and have had all the college and university funding handed to them on plate, but can still barely wipe their own backside without having to consult some kind of manual on how to do it best! You get treated like an idiot by all the "wannabe" cyclists who turn up to spend as little money as they can on the a bike they don't need, or use.

Pros

I guess if you really like cycling you can get discounts on cycling goods. But then your salary be so low even then you wouldn't be able to afford to buy things

Cons

Directors don't live in the real world. They set unrealistic targets just to try and flatter new owners then when not surprisingly targets not met guess what. ..its The staff thought. Directors are only out for themselves to line there pockets. Managers are not much better.they prefer to not deal with issues or problems and love to have a blame culture. Long hours. Bare minimum holiday law allows. Zero benefits. Rubbish pay. No respect. No idea what they doing. I feel like this and I work in head office hate to think what its like for store staff. I often hear retail support teams talking with utter contempt about store stuff, they act like store staff are barely human with no feelings....totally unprofessional yet they think they are hilarious.

Thank you for your review. I am sorry that you are not having a great experience with us We are focused on strengthening & promoting our values all the time to ensure that these resonate with all & everyone shares the same ethos. Having spent a considerable amount of time now with people from all departments & areas of the business I can honestly say that the vast majority of us are a collaborative, inclusive, happy-go-lucky bunch & I am disheartened to hear that your experience is not the same as mine. I would encourage you to speak to your manager about how you are feeling or popping in to see one of us in HR to talk this through.

Pros

Very, very occasionally getting crumbs from the king's table, and speaking to customers about cycling.

Cons

The list is so long it's difficult to know where to start... The pay is minimum wage. Bonuses are based on your performance that the company does everything possible to minimise. Other benefits are not available to all employees. Besides, the company is too busy being nasty to be generous. Shop managers are specially selected to be as spiteful and childish as possible. They also encourage others to spy on you, making it difficult for you to do your job properly. Amazingly, and despite this, the deliberately made poor and down-trodden, assistants still try and give the best service possible, even though the company continues to try to break their spirits and ensure morale is as low as it can get. From a minority? Expect special treatment! You will be punished for it. And if you complain you will be punished again and again and again. As you can see, this is a truly awful company that's far too busy being hateful and hurtful to its employees to realise cherishing them MIGHT just improve the company's profits.

I am sorry to hear that this is the way you feel about your experience with us as we take our values incredibly seriously. We are working hard to introduce new initiatives & programmes that will ensure people are happy with us & fulfilled in their roles. Clearly this is not the experience that you are having & I am very concerned by this. The only way we can support you is if you contact myself or one of my HR colleagues directly so that we can work this through with you. We hope to hear from you soon.
