Holy moly. There's a myriad of things wrong with Environment NY. One of the first things is the interview process is a joke. They ask you a couple of questions on your first interview and say positive things, and tell you to come in on another day for a second interview. This gives people a sense of hope and they come in hoping for a job offer. Instead groups of workers swarm around the interns, nitpicking at their behavior and they way they present themselves, and as a result a lot of people are ousted from this second interview because of these minute details. Those who do stay are given "canvassing" jobs, where they go around places in NY and essentially beg people for money an donations. The quotas they set on workers is too high and the work is grueling. Not worth an 11 an hour pay.

1. You stand on your feet for hours, not able to walk or sit down. 2. You sometimes have to pay for expensive metro rides to locations they send you to. 3. You're standing outside in the rain or hot sun, and they don't even provide you with a tent or water. 4. You're doing a lot of walking, standing, traveling, and pretty much begging people for money, but you only make 11/hr. You might as well work at McDonald's. 5. The job is extremely stressful because you never really know when you're gonna get fired. 6. They pretend like the money you raise for them is going towards a good cause. It's really just a scam. Making rich people richer. 7. The first 2 days I worked there, there were groups of people protesting outside against the company. 8. They won't pay you enough! 9. You should definitely get more than 11/hr for the type of work required. 10. They're taking advantage of college students who really need work for the summer. I quit on the 4th day. These people don't care about the workers or the environment, really. They're just trying to make as much money as they can.
