Pros

trivago is filled with amazing people from all over the world. The environment is generally fun and definitely informal. While no longer the start-up it once was, trivago keeps a firm grasp of its roots, with a relatively flat hierarchy where you feel that you individually can make a big difference. You're given high levels of responsibility from the start, which allows for some serious growth potential. trivago gives you a lot of flexibility to work in the way you see fit. trivago also invests heavily into their events and similar benefits for employees, nearly every week there is some sort of dedicated event that encourages employees to socialize – which is very critical, especially since so many people move to Germany for this job. While not perfect, trivago is an excellent place to work with a modern office, great amenities, flexible benefits you feel you can use.

Cons

If you are not okay with change or managing change, you probably won't like trivago. Change seems to be the only constant at trivago, so the right frame of mind and attitude around change are an essential prerequisite for this job. However, this means a lot of exciting opportunities for those who seek them. Another complant would be that salaries could be better. trivago seems to pay fairly for the market, but a bit more transparency would be nice. However, you do get a lot more with this job than just salary, including great flexibility and benefits that you're encouraged to use. Finally, the lack of head count can make it difficult at times to manage workloads and meet all expectations. While they are careful with hiring, I don't quite think they're at the level they should be in terms of employees.

Pros

- free beer, cereals, milk, coffee and other small stuff - team events where you see your managers get drunk - one trip once a year where the whole company gets drunk - average age 25

Cons

- all the above benefits mean less salary for people while trivago pays less taxes - very inexperience middle managers that treat people like monkey - no way to move up because of older employees and flat hierarchy
