Pros
mgm understands that their employees work best when they are supported. One of the biggest things for me was finding out in my interview that they have never laid off employees. Even when they lost their biggest client at the time, they came to a deal to keep the employees on at a reduced salary until new work was found for them, then paid back the lost salary plus interest. I truly feel secure in my position at mgm. It made a lot of sense to me that three of the four people I interviewed with had a minimum of 10 years working with mgm.
Even if you find you are looking to switch things up and change roles, they would rather keep you on and find something that fits you better than have you go elsewhere. They just rolled out an internal learning system to help with exactly that with internal experts sharing their expertise to help the company as a whole grow.
On top of that, they have all of the standard boxes checked. The benefits are great, there are so many opportunities to learn and grow, and everyone I have worked with is smart, friendly, and a pleasure to work with.
Cons
It is a tech consulting company, so there are the usual client side shenanigans. But that's to be expected.
Not truly a con depending on the person, but though you are supported when you ask for it, there isn't much hand-holding. You are expected to learn and perform and drive yourself almost right from the get go.
Also not truly a con, but the atmosphere is generally more European. Some cultural misunderstandings can happen.
