Pros

Lululemon is a fantastic place to be if you're into health and well being, and especially yoga. I didn't know much, errr... anything about the company or yoga before I started. I bought some pants for my sister once, and heard that they had free classes every Sunday. Whoa dude, I felt friggin' awesome afterwards! Full disclosure: I got my degree in Exercise, but never focused much on the stretching part... Anyway, I joined a local yoga studio, and there happened to be some lulu's that frequented that place too. One of them suggested that I work there. A couple of weeks later, I did. Everyone there is upbeat, active and VERY healthy. Really. I always smuggled (chocolate) candy in to offset all the good-for-you stuff. Everything's a balance, right? They hire people who resonate well with their ideals. I've been around athletic retail and corporate for awhile, and this is such a nice place. Talk to guests about yoga/running/dance/massage/whatever and sell stuff -it's all pretty laid back (We have goals for sure. Wouldn't be lulu without them!) and genuine. The connections with their ambassadors and local yoga community are great, and I find myself talking them up still. It's a very goal oriented place, and want the best from/for you while you're there, and even when you leave. There is also a definite preference to have management borne from the educator ranks. Everyone's pretty much a go-getter, and pick up slack when others have been pulled somewhere else. We always learned about the new apparel/accessories too, and actually held a monthly store meeting every month. Holy crap, I can't believe I forgot to mention the unlimited (at the time) free classes! Oh, yeah, that was a biggie... BTW: I'm a guy, and there seems to be a dearth of them here -but that's good for us, yeah!?

Cons

I was a part-timer, so I never concerned myself with issues regarding my professional growth for the company, but they were there. Lulu's big into Landmark Education. I got their intro. prior to my association with lulu, from a friend. I didn't much care for it then, and got harassed on the phone so much afterwards! Those assuming management positions are "given the opportunity" or "gifted" (if you've spoken with someone who loved it, you'll know what that means...) participation there. I feel that there a good things to be taken from if for sure, but some of their tactics may be questionable. Bing or google it to find out why. Sometimes I felt that some can get so caught up in the rah-rah, that they become a little cultish. It wasn't really a bad thing, just and observation (yet I put it in the "Cons" section...). I always take a step back a evaluate what is going on around me. Take all the good you can from things. Know who you are. Know who you want to be.

Pros

The benefits with the sweaty Pursuits is good and the insurance is good too! You get a team that you get to put together and get to know them and see what works for you guys to be successful in a processing shift!

Cons

The nights are long and very overworked. They ask a lot from you and usually they put the business before you. It’s always we need this and that from the managers but not actually taking time to help or to actually see that we are trying our best and if they actually worked a shift with us and saw the struggles they would understand more. They think it’s easy, when the weight of the store depends on us. You are also qualified as a Guest Experience lead since you have to do both trainings so the management do over utilise that and you will be doing two jobs. Even though it says in the description to support the floor but there’s a difference between supporting from time to time and doing it all the time where you are running the floor and the back at the same time but they’ll say “oh why isn’t this done?” Maybe because you’ve told me to help you out ? The are also very selective about who moves up to be a manager. No work life balance at all!
