Software developer on modernization - Software Engineer innoWake Employee Review

I have had the pleasure of working at innoWake for 2 1/2 months. Admittedly, it is a challenging job because the focus of the work is on migrating mainframe code to Java, which is not exactly mainstream Java development. However, innoWake knows how to succeed and part of that is hiring good people who get along well and know how to enjoy the work and each other's company. The business is based in Germany and I have traveled there to meet the full team and to get to know the culture, etc. There is emphasis on knowing who does what and who to contact for anything that you need. This is not a company that hides from you. The Austin office is very nice and a progressive working environment with coffee, bean bags, and Apple all the way! Currently, the company is growing due to new business opportunities and looking for more good folks to join the team. Please apply if any of this appeals to you.

I have been with innoWake since 3+ years now and enjoy every single day coming in for work. The company undergoes a rapid growth currently, as projects are piling up and development folks are desperately needed. Typically European, I'd personally say, the company is not driven by job titles but consists of a flat hierarchy. Your career depends on what you're capable of, with major space for yourself to grow. Your success is driven by your personal enthusiasm and the willingness to express the "you". Job wise, I can honestly say, that this the most interesting field I have ever worked in. The company is the leader in legacy migration and modernization, which enables you to touch the "legacy" NATURAL/COBOL/PL1/JCL world, while using mainly Java to achieve the goals of a successful migration/modernization in an agile development environment. The benefits are outstanding, PTO is top notch (a bit depending on your tenure, though). If you can't make it for a (voluntary) daily team lunch, there is always an opportunity to meet after work. No obligations ever! innoWake just moved into it's own, super beautiful, HQ office building close to Downtown, Austin with sufficient space to continue to grow!
